Heard the John Denver rumor.

Anything by GUNS N ROSES was definately out because they had a crucifix on their album cover. (my favorite band to this day)

Same for Madonna - she used a lot of "idolatry" and crucifixes.

strangely, some pioneer boys from another town started a band and their repetoire was all Hendrix and Led Zeppelin stuff, so I guess thise rumors never made it to Tasmania.

Picture watchtower march 15 2011 page 31

this weekend watchtower study at the kh had included a picture on page 31 (watchtower march 15).. on the picture a sister is speaking / testify at a court.. at the wall of the court chamber, there are 2 pictures of imaginal political leaders.. am i wrong, do i see a joke of the wts graphic department?

because they are very similar to 2 governing body members.. fun ?!

Why is everyone in the court standing?

I've been in lots of courts in different countries and the only time the public stands is when the magistate enters/leaves. not during a testimony.

ahhh good ol WT - so full of real life depictions: like the WT in the early 90's with a photo of a homeless man living in a sewer ; everything was FILTHY ... but he had his dirty sneakers off next to his matress on the ground - he was laying on his back with his legs crossed so one foot was in the air: and his SOCKS WERE PERFECTLY WHITE

i remember my BF's dad (who was not a Jw but came to meetings just to humor his wife) actually raised his hand during the study and pointed this out- everyone laughed their asses off.

i haven't been anywhere near a jw meeting or convention in at least 8 or 9 years.

but this afternoon, i'm doing some weed trimming and suddenly realized i had this lyric playing in my head...over and over.... .

WOW is there a ew song book? dont they use the old shitty brown ones anymore?

the one that sticks on my head is "always remember your God in your youth"

you know- "out of the mouth of babes God once brought Praise, they to hail jesus their voices did raise blah blah" (reverse syntax there)

its the ONLY song i know how to play on piano aside from chopsticks. SO when my kids ask me to show them how to play pianao its the one thing I play but I never tell them what the song is.

without a doubt the most popular songin our congo was "A paradise the earth will be with eyes of faith this we can see...."

DOes anyone recall what is the song that is the same tune as a christmas carol? that used to get all the teen boys cracking up whenever we sang it.

im recent here and thought i would properly introduce myself.

i have posted a few times but mostly i like to read because i gather good insight into reaching the hearts of jehovahs witnesses.

the short of it is i was born into a large family of jehovahs witnesses.

I think the booktable is a growing approach

they cant do door to door so easily now - people are becoming more litigious especially here in australia where lawsuits far outnumber the US

its also a less confrontational approach and it allows them to "proclaim the name of Jehovah" using their big banners etc - which they obviously cant do at doors.

Remember, for witnesses (just as with Hare Krishnas) its all about getting Gods name to the people.
