They DO expect blow back.
And they will get it.
Mostly from some of the "intellegentsia" made up of writers & researchers and their network around the world.
Expect a new crop of renegades with choice tidbits of inside information.
i was just thinking and a new major flaw in the new lite sprang into my mind.
one of the ways the governing body justified its existence is saying that there was a governing body over 1st century christians based out of jerusalem.
now i know they dont have any real proof of this, in fact evidence is the opposite of this, but lets say for arguments sake there was a gb in the 1st century.

thinking a lot last days about the new light about the fds, today i got an idea about the following.. - both the 1) annointed and 2) the rank and file witness aka great crowd are now part of the domestics.. so, in practice, it doesn't matter you have a heavenly or and earthly hope for the future.. because, the domestics can have a heavenly or an earthly hope.. what i think is that this part of the new light sets open the gates for jehovahs witnesses with a heavenly hope.. and more in future: how longer the "new systems of things" will stay away, the watchtower can switch to a doctrine with only a heavenly hope, "living for ever in a paradise in heaven".. what do you think about this?!?.
gorby.
Maybe they will say that the 144,000 are those that die a martyrs death.
Rev. 14:4 "These are the ones that follow the Lamb no matter where he goes."
Rev. 12:11 "and they did not love their souls even in the face of death>"
Rev. 6: 11 "And a white robe was given to each of them; and they were told to rest a little while longer, until the number was filled
also of their fellow slaves and their brothers who were about to be killed as they also had been."
i suddenly realized that this board has the same methods at its disposal as the watchtower and it will use them.
and there's no appeal.. i am so saddened by this i feel like killing myself.
this was my last refuge of being able to discuss things that are on my mind.. and now i see there is no hope.

I see that this community will act in an authoritarian way.
Moderators can form a lynch mob and remove a post anytime they want to.
I always thought that if you don't like or agree with what a person says just tell them or even ignore them.
But, to trample on their sincere effort at communicating a deeply thought out idea... that's traumatic.
blame the cult.
blame the cult.
blame the cult.. suicide is a very complicated behavior.. mental health professionals caution against assigning blame when people kill themselves.. being disfellowshipped is a life stress and some people are not equipped mentally to handle it.
Blame the cult. Blame the cult. Blame the cult.
Suicide is a very complicated behavior.
Mental health professionals caution against assigning blame when people kill themselves.
Being disfellowshipped is a life stress and some people are not equipped mentally to handle it. But the large majority of disfellowshipped people are somewhat greatful for the forced exit. They feel liberated.
If a person is fired from their job are you going to blame the company for the former employees suicide?
We all liked Eric and there is this first reaction to become angry. It's part of the mourning process.
Sometimes suicide is an effective way to make a statement. Sometimes pouring gasoline on oneself is a rallying cry.
I'm sure oompa sent a strong message to his former congregation and family.
There are cults that advocate suicide. Jonestown comes to mind. Heavens Gate.
The most serious type of suicide that can directly be put at the feet of the JW's is asking people to commit suicide rather than take a blood transfusion. False martyrdom. That's something they can't wriggle out of.
after three years i dusted off my bible put on my sunday suit and walked door-to-door in the glorious morning sun for 90 minutes solid (no breaks--old-school).
' i always felt some subtle compulsion to do this, i don't know why.
it was not for subterfuge or causing trouble.
Someone should start a very loose association where people get together and go door to door creating good will.
Nah. Before long you will have "overseers" and "elders".
Instruction manuals.
Too many meetings.
Did you at least call on the god of randomness and throw dice to see which street you should work on?
don't you hate these misleading headers.
i usually wait a day to see if there are a significant number of posters to the page.. but just look at the number of visitors that click on these kinds of subjects.. it builds up really fast.. i don't mind the time factor (1 milisecond) clicking on a bogus "new-secret-this will bring the org crashing down" type of post, but i have to admit it is very disappointing.. .
My deepest and most sincere apology to any who clicked clicked on this.
There should be a provision for removing this kind of crap.
Now it is part of my "permanent record" - not a good follow up to atonement day.

here is something tha thas just amazed me.
i had two witnesses at the door.
i invited them in for a few minutes because of the cold.
Let me ask the question again with less room for avoidance:
In your lifetime of searching, investigating, considering knowledge have you:
Ever read books on evolution? I don't mean creationist apologetics but actual books explaining evolution by evolutionists.
Ever read information critical of the Bible?
Ever read books on the problems of finding evidence for the "historical jesus"?
If your answer to these questions is Yes and you follow up with some book titles it would make your claim more believable.
Obviously you haven't.
This is my problem with those that focus on JW's being this horrible cult. The real solution is to encourage everyone to widen out their information base. Is it desireable for ANYONE to believe in a lie? Including conventional mainstream religions.
Ray Franz is an example of this. Give him credit for exposing the lies, inconsistencies of the JW's. Unfortunately he remained a firm believer in an unproveable entity and a book that this imaginary entity inspired. Franz used logic. He understood the fallacies yet he stuck with the worlds biggest illusion.
I was raised a JW defending everything JW's believe. I never read a serious book by an evolutionist until I was 30.

maccauk11:
I see your statements as criticism because they were critical. The implication is that the witnesses are failing to do something you expect christians to do. That's a criticism. There's nothing wrong with criticism.
But you should be aware that you are guilty of the same things the JW's are. You ignore information that might draw you away from the comfort of your faith.
Your statement "I spent a lifetime of searching , investigating, considering knowledge." is evasive and therefore dishonest. Let me ask the question again with less room for avoidance:

You don't have to answer my questions. I'm not out to nail anyone to a tree.

maccauk11,
Do you ever read books on evolution?
Do you ever read information critical of the Bible?
Are you afraid of having a Ouija board in your house?
Are you familiar with the problems of finding evidence for the "historical" Jesus?
Tell me that you are disposed to dealing with these issues first before criticizing the reaction of JW's.
