I'm going nuts trying to get sound. I got vision for the little tape (windows that simon put up) thingy but not sound. I've pressed the sound off thing. What pisses me off is that if one of my kids was here they'd walk in and get sound for me within 2 second. No one around till next week to help me. boo hoo!! There must be something wrong with our sound thing coz even when I got the BBC page to play for a couple of minutes before it crashed, there was no sound on that eitehr. AND yes I have prressed every bloody button that looks connected to audio that I can find. Any further suggestions.

The shunning policy? The upcoming KM inset about shunning, specifically about allowing a disfellowshipped child back into the family home is priceless. Begging the question: Why are Jehovah's Witnesses treating children in this way? Baptising children at age 11 and onwards and then treating them worse than a dog if they don't do exactly what the Watchtower Society demands of them. I believe Panarama could make a killing on the subject of shunning. The inset more or less says the child shouldn't be allowed back home if they are only there for the easy life. Right, remind me again why children live at home? I seem to be confused about this.
Prisca, I can't get my ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffggggggggggggg realplayer to work! It keeps starting then the program crashes (has that message up which says it's about to!!!) So frustrating. Suggestions?

It means much more than numbers to Jehovah's Witnesses following the discussion. It's a life raft for them to cling to: Our leader has stated "considerably lower" which means we can dismiss the entire 23000 cases as bogus. Any little diversionary statement works to dismiss the entire contention.

Farkel you are such a hoot!
We had been losing faith steadily for a couple of years when we put all our eggs in the one basket by having the notion that the upcoming District Assembly would put everything to rights. Boy were we wrong? We left our 18 month old daughter with my parents coz they'd already attended the spiritual feast somewhere else. I'd organised some plum accommodation, close to the Show-grounds and we were totally prepared to be wowed back into the spiritual black. It was a couple of weeks before Christmas (great timing for the workers), and I became aware of all the struggling young families trying to quieten little kids everywhere around me - many of them looked even poorer than us. Even without a child and our getting there early we didn't manage good seats - coz somehow they'd all been saved by people who had slept over or something. Everywhere we sat the sound echo'd double and the wooden bench seats quickly lost whatever appeal they had had as a place to rest the bum. For the first time in nearly ten years we played hooky from an assembly. We went shopping in Sydney-town and it felt great. It was our first act of defiance. It was equisite! I think the public talk was given by the disgraced Greenlees (sp?) and it was truly a triumph of mediocrity. The assembly was our last. It was 1978.

One can't help wondering what type of treatment pedophiles receive in prison, besides the bleedin' obvious from fellow prisoners. I gather these men (do women do this stuff too?) genuinely believe sex with children is normal and healthy and that the kids don't mind etc. It seems to me that we have a similiar problem getting them to appreciate how wrong they are, as we do getting WT addicts to understand how screwed up they are. Like everyone else here, I've heard the stats of reforming pedophiles are terrible, but I'm wondering what the approach is to reform. I might be naive but I imagine that if you take the right approach, then you might be able to break thru their mind set? What do you think?

upon the can, rurulnet and ukonline centres intranets, the program has been advertised which is also seen by many of the uk tpo business people.. can we see more teamwork please?.

So how come some men become pedophiles? Whilst I basically believe people are products of their environment, I'm not sure how certain behavioral problems fit this picture.
