  Waking Up From a 34 Year Slumber.

  july 11, 2011 will be 34 years since i was baptised as one of jw's.

  the sleeping pill i took was in the form of them providing the information that made the bible come alive with the truth and insisting that they go by the bible not adding or taking away from it.

  i had negative experiences from local brothers from time to time, however i excused them as part of being imperfect.

  Welcome alg1052... be thankful that you indeed did wake up. There are several million that will never wake up from the hypnotic trance that the wt has put them in. Some spent more than the 34 years that you did being mislead, lied to, intimidated, etc........... The books suggested are excellent reads, I have read all of them several times...

  Had the magazines left at my house today and wanted to "SCREAM" after reading this article in the May 1,2011 WT

  the article that caught my eye as i was thumbing through it was on page 18 entitled "a peaceable people defend their good name".

  this was all about the issues being addresssed in russia and how the j.w.

  's were being oppressed/repressed.. but if you look in the box to the left under "a note to the citizens of russia", you will see that they quote the scripture in luke 12:2 "there is nothing carefully concealed that will not be revealed, and secret that will not become known.".

  It says in the tract that they can visit a website www.jw-russia.org, where they can learn the entire history of JW's in Russia, how about posting a website that shows the entire history of JW's as an organization, not just in Russia ? I guess if they did that then they would have to admit to false teachings and propaganda over the decades. Wait a second, they never admit to that, what am I saying. It never happened, so dont even ask , or question it.. The Russian authorities have got it right..!! Das Vdanja..

  setting is obviously in the "new system", i'd say quite some time after the big a. everything looks neat and clean, so it can't be just few months or even years after the big slaughter.. let me point out few things that made me laugh:.

  every effort was made to depict natural materials, but you see leather straps with metal rivets holding the picnic basket lids.

  I have that exact same shirt, got it at Macy's...lol

  I have been on the "outs" for a while now, so forgive me if I am way behind on these things, but when did they start coming out with "apostle cards" ? I seen one in the back of the July 2011 Awake.. Are kids expected to trade them ? And shouldn't they come with a slice of bubble gum ?

  "born ins" are taught that ANYTHING the organization says is as if it came from Jehovah himself. Never question it for fear of falling into apostasy. The organization promotes itself, plain and simple. And it is becoming even more apparent in recent years. Their stronghold on the blind sheep stems from their insistance that if we want to serve God properly we must obey his appointed servant, the "WTBS". Even the baptismal questions have leaned toward loyalty to the org. see below

  Baptismal questions from the August 1, 1966 Watchtower, p. 465:

  (1) Have you recognized yourself before Jehovah God as a sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the Father, through his Son Jesus Christ?
  
  (2) On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation, have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God to do his will henceforth as he reveals it to you through Jesus Christ and through the Bible under the enlightening power of the holy spirit?

  Baptismal questions from the May 15, 1970 Watchtower, p. 309:

  (1) Have you recognized yourself as a sinner and needing salvation from Jehovah God? And have you acknowledged that this salvation proceeds from him and through his ransomer, Christ Jesus?
  
  (2) On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for redemption have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to Jehovah God, to do his will henceforth as that will is revealed to you through Christ Jesus and through God's Word as his holy spirit makes it plain?

  Baptismal questions from the May 1, 1973 Watchtower, p. 280:

  (1) Have you repented of your sins and turned around, recognizing yourself before Jehovah God as a condemned sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the Father, through his Son Jesus Christ?
  
  (2) On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation, have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God to do his will henceforth as he reveals it to you through Jesus Christ and through the Bible under the enlightening power of the holy spirit?

  The newest baptismal questions, from the June 1, 1985 Watchtower:

  (1) On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?
  
  (2) Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spirit-directed organization?

  Watchtower’s Judicial System

  today i uploaded a new article to my blog addressing a central aspect of judicial process and how its lack in watchtowers system undermines justice and confidence, not to mention undermining the honesty of watchtowers presentation of its system.

  I was not told that it was a judicial meeting, one elder said that he wanted to ask me a few questions and I would be on my way. Little did I know at the time that I was being railroaded. Acsations were being made, however in this organization, you DO NOT have the right to face your accuser. My accuser said that I was drunk at his home several months earlier where several other witnesses were present, I guess it took him several months for his conscience to get to him. Wasn't he supposed to come to me first ?

  Anyway, I told the elders that if I has so offended this person then why did he ask me to give the prayer before we had the meal. This was purely a personal vendetta against me, and I was df"d for denying that it was as it was presented to me. I was not repentant, I told them I could not be repentant for something that I didnt do, that was the wrong thing to say...lol

  I knew that I was being pushed out by ones who were in good with the elders little clique, and this was confirmed when, as I undertook the traumatic experience of trying to be re instated, I attended meetings regularily for over a year (in a different hall) I was eventually recommended for reinstatement, however it had to go to the original comittee for approval, well they never ever responded to the request to be reinstated, even tho it was recommended in my new hall. It was clearly an attempt to keep me out.

  In the end, I am so glad that it happened that way, because it gave me the freedom to really research the origin and history of this organization of false prophets, and I am liberated to know that I am no longer part of something that I know Jehovah does not approve of, they will have their fill very soon....

  Remember in the late 60's and early 70's the fervor that was generated by the 1975 prediction ?, There was unprecedented increase over the fact that people thought the end was coming. (because that is what they were told) Could we be in store for another 1975, would the wtbs resort to that again to try to hang on to the members that are still drinking the kool-aid, following them like blind sheep ? I think that will be the last ditch effort to hold on to the few members that they will soon have, but it will backfire on them and they will no longer exist, I believe that this will all take place with a year, maybe less...
