The Egyptian god Thoth smarter then Jehovah?
by Crazyguy inwe can tell by the old testament and other writings that the jews and israelites used a lunar calendar.
thier neighbor to the east eventually switched away from a lunar to a solar calendar.
experts don't know exactly when but the egyptians watching the star sirius were able to make the change as early as 2700 bc or possibly as late as about 1100 bc.

Might be the same thing under different names. Like LANCIA and CHRYSLER nowadays. -

by WITNESS-FOR-WATCHTOWER-REFORM inhere is my first letter i posted to the governing body.
i also hope that brothers on the writing committee who may be lurking on this site (and have some clout) read my letter and bring in change to this very flawed policy around confession of sins.. enjoy.
the governing body of jehovah’s witnesses.

I didn't even read the whole letter, imagine the ones that receive hundreds a day. Nice effort though. -

Were you beaten as a child?
by purrpurr ini've been confronting my mother with her dubious parenting skills (abuse) of me as a child.
particularly the beatings i would get with the wooden spoon.
not a light smack but hitting me as hard as she could for as long as she could.

We (my brother and I) had it two or three times. I never even thought of touching my child now. It just is not the right thing to do.

Well RubaDub, if that's the level over there in Florida...
Than again, there is a difference between a local part on the meeting or even a PT and a talk of this level. It shouldn't be read in a strong accent. People are travelling from far, even have to take a day off, I know that because I served there for 10 years. I am absolute sure that a lot of the dominicans from remote villages didn't even understand this read rubbish. .

@theoldhippie and lettmoris... (Por dios elige otro nombre), I really don't think he does speak Spanish that well. He has some knowledge of the theocratic language, but on the streets of Washington Heights or The Bronx he would be lost....not to speak of Santo Domingo.
Anyway, the first time he was in the DR, the opening of the branch, 95 or 96, I met him, and he nor his wife understood a word, but ok that is a long time ago. He would stay at our missionary-home for the weekend but I think the branch didn't like the idea. Th guy is or was relaxed ..
