  there are so many things that you can't do if you are one of jehovah's witnesses.

  for example, you can't salute the flag or stand for the national anthem.

  can you think of different things you can't do if you're a witness??

  Finally told my mother I'm no longer a believer

  for those who don't know, i did the fade about 8 years ago or so.

  i finally had a frank talk with my mother the other day about how i no longer consider myself a witness.

  she has been a witness for about 40 years now.

  I am DF'd. My sister, brother-in-law, and their adult children are the only family members I have that are JWs. They have been JWs for well over 20 years. My brother-in-law has been an elder for at least 20 years and my nephew (only 32) is a PO. None of them have ever shunned me.

  My heart breaks when I read the stories on this forum of any of you who are shunned by family members. That has to be so very painful.

  You can get WT songbooks on ebay for about $3.00. Just type "Watchtower" in the search engine.

  I was also curious about the words to the songs. I had forgotten them since I have been DF'd for so long. Believe me, most of them are dreadful.

  Please have patience with me. I have been DF'd for several years, and some of you use language that I don't remember hearing at the KH.

  Until I found this site, I didn't even know that they no longer taught the doctrine about "this generation".

  I was baptized last week. This baptism had a special meaning for me because I wanted to make a public profession that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I know that my JW baptism back in the 70's was not about my personal relationship with Jesus and so, to me, my JW baptism didn't "count".

  As Ravyn said a Christian baptism isn't really a "re-baptism" but a baptism for the first time.

  did the wt ever discuss the un scandal?

  if so, do you remember what they wrote and how it was received by the r&f jws?

  the reason i am asking is that my sister is "fading" but still believes it is the "truth" and that the society is above reproach.

  Once again, thank you so much. You have reminded me of many ways that show how false and unclean the WTS is. I will be downloading the articles that show the Society's many false prophecies and flip-flops. I just hope she will read them.
