press release from bethel.
thu jun 15 20:22:08 2000. .
statement to the media (june 14, 2000).
Throughout all my years as a loyal jdub I was constantly reminded that we should be no part of the world.
I would like to put forward this question.
IS the society now trying to conform with the world by stating that they do not expell members for taking blood? Making them sound more palatable. Doesn't it look like a softening and appeal to be accepted by the world? Are they contradicting themselves since we are to be in no way even similiar to mainstream religions?.Is this one step closer to them becoming part mainstream religion? Will they bringabout their own downfall and reveal themselves to be false prophets due to their own doctrinal changes?[8>]
i've found it quite interesting talking to several young ones who lead double lives.
the sad thing is, i don't find these ones so wicked.
i find them basically good kids who got a little messed up because no one had any time for them, or attempts to relate were rather lame.. the irony is that while talking to one while he was smoking a cigarette, out of nowhere he says, "but i still believe its the truth".
This can have dire consequences for some. I know personally it lead me to throw all caution to the wind as far as bringing my daughter up. Because of the boundaries imposed by the organisation I allowed my daughter to follow her heart and understanding. I felt a release of the restrictions and guilt that had plagued me due to what I now know are basic human traits not weakness or wronddoing as the society inculcated into me I wanted to protect her from the same guilt complexes. Unfortunately your words are a reality of the emotions one can feel exactly
I don't believe it and yet I know it's true" is really what is being said. A witness is taught to accept the 'whole body of teachings' as 'the truth'. We are not allowed to be selective and yet... we have that strange, contradictory statement popping up now and then.
Dangerous reasoning when trying to bring up a child. Conditioned to hate the world and non witnesses in it and particpating in the normal routines working etc, developing friendships with these ones who are not in the truth feeling guilty for liking the world .... Very hard to instil a sense of direction in a child when you believe the world is going to be destroyed My daughter is now 21 and thankfully she doesn't have that guilt but in a lot of aspects of her life I feel if only I had not carried all this guilt and fear with me whilst bringing her up than she maybe might have a clearer picture of a direction in her life.
I thank god we have have a beautiful communicative relationship and friendship. We are now healing each other.
how many inconsistancies can you find?
how many things are not told about the religion in this lesson?
also check out the note at the bottom of the page.. "knowledge that leads to everlasting life".
I would like to back up my statement which may have sounded harsh regarding the faithful and discreet slave replacing Jesus as mediator.

Foremost that you baptise yourself to the organisation not God.
You can no longer associate with people who are not witnesses.
You give up your freedom of conscience if you do not you will be disfellowshipped ie disagreement with doctrine of the FDS
That you will now be a part of a publishing company who's main goal is to get as much of their publications out as possible for as little cost as possible for themselves.
The WTBTS is not responsible for any decisions you make regarding blood and legalities which may arise.
In essence you become an antichrist of sorts because you now have faith in 144,000 and the remnant left on earth Known as the faithful and discreet slave to be your mediator for God. Hence not following Jesus words that he is the only waqy to God.
Last but not least you are not to get heavily invovlved with the internet this will be few as associating with apostates.

when we think of the governing body in brooklyn do others like myself automtically think of them as the faithful and discreet slave?
haven't we been taught that they run the organisation known as the watchtower and bible tract society?
now its looks like i personally may have been wrong.. is it run by a group of legal rofessionals.
Waiting
I guess shy is an understatement to describe myself considering I am in sales and have to deal with the public daily. The field ministry really taught me to sell well, if you can sell a religion you can sell anything.
I hope I haven't been to abrupt with some of my posts please let me know if I have?

Hi waiting
unfortunately I don't have a website I sometimes feel I don't really need one with all the info I have found. I believed sincerely that I had found the truth when I first started associating and was baptised with the witnesses. Like many of you guys here I was unaware of a few flaws. Fair enough the majority of brothers will say the faithful and discreet slave have never said they are infallable.
I have been searching the web for almost a year and a half now and thank God everday for taking away my feelings of isolation and disloyalty to the society. I truly believed I was condemned to death due to dissassociating myself for many years. I started attending meetings again about 2 years ago yet could not cope with the shunning the brothers inflicted upon me. I continued to go to meetings and prayed a lot. My lack of self esteem and faith in the kindness Jesus showed others seemed a stark contrast to what was being preached from the platform. In a way someone was listening to my prayers.
Thanx waiting to wanting to know about me I am really shy but I Do I hope I can help others who feel weighed down by the heavy burdens sometimes put on us by the society and GB.

i was talking to a friend of mine who used to work in bethel nyc, a well respected brother.
he was telling me of how material for the book study group was really decided.
especially those really "deep", "meaty" books like " freedom and life everlasting in the sons of god", "gods kingdom of a thousand years" etc.
I found this site with lots of information regarding spiritual food it also has some useful information about some food the slave would rather us not eat
