compound complex yes, in my day it would be putting on the new personality. However, you omitted a word in the other part about making a personal dedication to Jehovah. Today it would be making a personal dedication to Jehovah's organization.

James, that's exactly what I meant. There is no hypocrite like a saved hypocrite! Probably not coincidentally, many of the JWs I knew in the past, the ones who were the worldly wildest before "learning the truth" were the most nauseating uberJWs! -

cappytan Look it up before you start spouting about "left wing nuts". It's documented, all ever several reliable news sources and is well known in her community. She has had 4 marriages to 3 different men, 3 divorces, gave birth to twins five months after divorce from husband #1, they were fathered by husband #3 and adopted by husband #2. But she says that's not important because she has been saved. -

Huh? So if a woman had a child who died at, say, the age of 5, then two years after the death had another child...she would have two generations of children? Her children would not be of the same generation? The dubs are buying this? -

Local Congregation Takes Away My Dad's Phone Hook-Up (HE'S 85 YRS. OLD)
by NoMoreHustle inthis happened about 6 months ago, didn't really have an opportunity to post about it (been busy), but they still haven't given back his password for the phone hook-up.
they say that this is direction from the "branch office".
i think it's complete bs, the real reason why they are doing this is to punish me & my family because i am basically a ghost when it comes to meetings & any type of activity.

How sad. They waste hours knocking on doors where no one is home or standing on street corners, yet they don't care if the elderly who have been faithful for years get their "spiritual food". Why won't things like this wake more up? Just so sad. -

How many here believed, down deep in your heart that the end would come in 1975?
by James Mixon ini was straddling the fence on that one, just in case they were right.

I could have had a pretty good scholarship for college. I was straight A's, college course in high school, class of 1968, but of course I was the obedient daughter. I have always admired my older sister who went to college and had a successful career in journalism. Fortunately my parents never shunned her or me after I left in 1985. They are both gone now, never dreaming they would have grown old in "this system", fortunately my dad had a good pension from his 40 years at a factory. Those days of company pensions are gone and so many of my boomer generation are retiring with nothing but SS and that doesn't go far.
Because of believing the 1975 hype I got married way too young...I was 21, he was 19. Yikes, that sounds so crazy now. Anyway, we wanted to experience married life and all that goes with it for at least a few years before Armageddon. The marriage lasted 12 years, past 1975, till he decided he didn't want to be married anymore. Hey, just dawned on me, maybe he married me thinking it wouldn't last long! (Funny since he has been married 3 more times since)
So yes, the 1975 hype kept me from college and I married way too young. But all's well that is ending well. No more JWs, a nonJW hubby and raised a beautiful daughter who occasionally says, "Poor mom, you didn't have this or you didn't get to do that". Maybe not, but my daughter did and does!!

I left for good in 1985. I remember always thinking how ridiculous that after 1000 years there would still be a final test. I can't remember some of the books from my final years other than the Babylon the Great book, yuk, and I got rid of most all the literature. I kept a few like Aid to Bible Understanding and All Scripture Inspired. We had a big storm the end of June, power went out, sump pump out, basement ended up with six inches septic water backup. Those books were on bottom shelf of bookcase and you can guess the rest of the story. I guess a fitting end for WT trash. Anyway, thanks for explanation. -

joe134cd I think you solved the mystery of why the elders say nothing about the unusual living arrangements. They are very well off. Betting she gives generously to the cause!
