We've Come A Long Way Baby!! Compare these two pieces of propaganda
by Terry ini was one year out of high school and attending the assembly in dallas, texas when i heard the buzz about this new half-hour move--an actual movie the watchtower had produced called "heritage.
"so, all of us teens (i was 19) sat in the vast audience and the lights went down and the screen flickered as our hearts beat a little faster in anticipation.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiiu0tm_dym___________i don't think our reaction (those of us young jw's) was quite what the propaganda master minds in ny had in mind!we were embarrassed at how awful this film was.it was beyond being a 1950's style b-grade teen rebellion film.
this piece of crap reflected badly on the very idea the supreme being was directing it!

And look how happy you look Terry! Could only get into about 3 minutes of "Heritage". (Barf) The other link doesn't work on my Kindle. Says it has been moved or deleted? -

You have to be 17 to work on a site (by law I would imagine) but you can get baptized at 10 or 12. Shouldn't that tell them something? -

The restaurant at the end of the universe
by Xanthippe ini sat outside at a cafe with my cappuccino for the first time today.
the sky was blue, the birds were singing, i could hear a woodpecker in the tall trees.
i closed my eyes and felt the sun on my face for the first time in months and i thought, i could sit here until the end of time.

Yes, the motto here is if you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it will change. Case in point: yesterday, Sunday, was sunny, light breeze and 74 degrees. Went for a walk in a park then got ice cream. Lots of people sitting at sidewalk tables enjoying their coffees too. We had a wild thunderstorm overnight that brought in a cold front. Today it is high of 42 with a wicked wind chill in the 20's.
LisaRose that is so charming and clever! You are very talented.

Ham seems to be the meat of choice here in the midwest. Always wondered why eat pork to celebrate resurrection of a Jewish guy. Looked it up, of course it has it's pagan origins like the rest of Easter. -

Sounds peaceful. Spring is my second favorite season after autumn. Here in Northeast Ohio we have 70 degrees one day and snow flurries the next. On those warm days you see convertibles with the top down, motorcycles and people in shorts. The next day it is back to the parkas and gloves! I have hundreds of daffodils blooming in my yard. I love them because they remind me of my dad. His favorite color was yellow. He died in 2004 and I still miss him everyday. His birthday is early April and I always take a bouquet to his grave on that day. All in all, life is good and this time of year with everything coming to life is a good time to reflect on that. Enjoy your cappuccino. 🍵 -

If he's been out 20 years he has a lot of unlearning and relearning to do. Also, a question: I didn't know Bethelites could have other full time employment. Don't they take a vow of poverty or something? What would they do with that money? -

JW Chef Refuses to Cook Black Pudding
by cofty insainsbury's has been forced to apologise after its jehovah's witness chef refused to serve a customer black pudding with his full english breakfast.alan mackay was stunned when he was told he could not enjoy the staple, made up of animal fat, blood and oatmeal, with his meal at the branch in arnold, nottingham.after receiving his incomplete dish the former police officer was told the black pudding would not be served because it was against the religious beliefs of the chef to do so....

The photo of that breakfast looks totally disgusting to this Yank!😝 However, that being beside the point, I never understand why employers have to hire people who, for whatever reason, refuse to fulfill all requirements of the job. For example, some pharmacists will not fill prescriptions for birth control or the "morning after" pill. Well then, go do something else. -

Why do men always take the long way round of doing things. Maybe he needed directions and wouldn't ask! 😁
