  Dallas, Fort Worth Area anyone?

  my husband and i are going to the dallas , fort worth area in the next few weeks for work and i was wondering if anyone knows of any apostate meetings or groups in that area?

  i heard in the bigger cities there are some organized discussion groups, let me know, thanks!

  Hi Lyin,

  There are plenty of ex-JWs in this area. There are two groups I've come across. One is mainly composed of fun-loving, crawdad-eating, beer-swilling fun folks that met via this board that live in Dallas/Ft. Worth. We get together every so often just for fun.

  The other group is composed of born-again, religious ex-JWs who have made the transition from the Watchtower to mainstream Christianity.
  They are actually having a support meeting this weekend. They are very nice, without being overly preachy.

  a note from the group, to tell you we had a great meal and a great visit for three hours until the restaurant people came and asked us if we would give up the table for another group.

  so we adjourned to my place and have been talking and laughing ever since.

  well, you can all kiss my ring now that i have become don valis...form one line to the left please.....just got back from meeting my lovely godchild mina katherine abston in arlington va/baltimore md..oh and i even got to read from the lectern...twice...i'm sure the holy water was boiling and sacrament soured just as soon as i walked in the door at saint michael and all angels episcopalian.

  take a good look, because i sincerly doubt any of you will ever see me in dress up any time soon.. .

  just when you think your immune to the pain from family members shunning you get a surprise.

  my sister hasn't talked or communicated with us for nearly 2 years.

  in november my mom bought her granddaughter ashley a beautiful doll.

  sometimes it helps to remember my own family members and a very close friend that I shunned when I was still a believer in the Watchtower.

  I know it hurts, Venice. My brother lives 10 minutes from me and I miss him like crazy. He is still a JW. I've called and called and emailed and emailed, and even driven by and invited myself in. He never reciprocates. So I DA'd him out of my life. Sometimes it's better for your emotional health just to let your JW relatives go.
  I certainly will let him back in my life if he ever leaves the Borg.

  I deny that I engaged in any nekkid dancing as this would get me disfellowshipped from the United Apostates of North Texas.

  By the way, I like the way you spell that word...nekkid. Andi-girl, you are soooooo from Texas.

  Mucho kudos to Dave (Caligula) "Elsewhere" for picking such a swell spot for good chow and cold brew. Rockfish rocks! Thanks to COMF for offering his home for the after-party party. Good food, good laughs, great conversation. Looking forward to the next one.

  i am watching what i think is the dumbest movie ever put on film,the quick and the dead.

  sharon stone (who i think looks great with no panties) absolutely sucked in this stupid movie.

  whats with the plot of this yawner,its been done a bit too much.she was terrible and gene hackman must have needed the money when he signed on to do this groaner..just my opinion and we all know what they about opinions...they are just like assholes, we all have them and they all stink...

  Walked out on "Popeye."

  2010: A Space Odyssey was pretty bad.

  Gambler,

  I understand your need to inflict pain on the theater that took your money unfairly for a poor film. However, it is unfair of you to pour your leftover drinks on the floor. You're only hurting the poor guy who makes minimum wage who has to clean up your mess. You want to get even? Leave before the film is over and ask for your money back. I've done that before.
