  After Exiting the Witnesses - Are you O.K. Not Knowing about the Future ?

  it seems that religion has always been considered the opium of the people.

  or at least many tend to gravitate towards religion to have or solidify some sort of future with a supreme being overlooking them hoping to have a reward either in heaven or in the jehovah's witnesses case - living forever in a " paradise earth ".

  it seems that people can't just live day to day and let each day come to them with whatever happens.

  Hello everybody,

  I am new here and just have to say WOW! if I had only known about this place before. I grew up as a Witness too, but left when I was 18 when I went to

  school. I'm now 32, live very far geographically from my family who are mostly all still witnesses, even though I still talk to my Ma and Dad sometimes.

  As far as the topic, I struggled as many others have with the programming for years even after leaving the witness way of life behind.

  These days I don't think of it much although I would be kidding myself if I told myself I never do (after all I am here right?). Regardless of what the witnesses

  or many others say however, I don't see things getting better for our collective planet but that's just being realistic.
