Just watched the hope one.
Could that thing be more depressing? I mean hell. They killed off 3 people gave one cancer and got him laid off from work.
it's hard for me to imagine that this type of video doesn't actually instill doubts in people. The reasonings of the "worldly" people were more coherent than the witnesses.
The scriptural hopes actually come across illusory and naive. God is given credit for their rebound without any blame for allowing the fall in the first place. The shepherding brothers actually bothered to mention Job, as if that account is going to make somebody feel better.
It's disturbing to see what the org is turning into. There is obviously no Armageddon anytime soon. The urgency is gone so they have to resort to this suffering-is-a-virtue brainwashing. The messaging is too specific for it not to be completely calculated. So all those out there that think the leadership is sincere but wrong, think again. These are calculating manipulators keeping people stuck emotionally for their personal gain.
They are heartless greedy sociopaths.

Is it common practice to keep using Kingdom Halls after congregations have been dissolved?
by keyser soze ini ask, because a neighboring congregation of where i used to attend was dissolved, and the people from there were scattered about to whatever congregation was closest.
but it turns out that they still meet at the old kingdom hall a couple times a week, for field service.
apparently this is done for tax purposes.. i suppose from a fiscal standpoint it makes sense, though it seems a little deceitful.

I will say it certainly isn't normal. Something is up. Could be many things, though.
I hear the organization will keep secrets and lie to protect "Mother".
So good luck getting a straight answer.

Well, what's on our side is that they (JW leadership) are irreparably stupid.
They live in a bubble. They live in an echo chamber.
They have no clue how this stuff plays outside the asylum. When they are done, the only JWs left will be wide eyed morons and ne'er-do-wells.
More and more normal people are going to wake up to these amateurish tactics and their palpable desperation.

It's better not to question, it leads to too much thought. -

Maybe I'm Just Ignorant About the New "Anti-Gay" Video
by turtleturtle inhomophobia (m-w.com):.
: irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals.
can someone tell me, specifically, was homophobic about the new "anti-gay" wt video.
-
xjwsrock
Comparing homosexuality to carrying a duffle bag seems to be intentional insensitivity and a perpetuating of ignorance. Like someone can just drop homosexual leanings or desires like a dropping a piece of carry-on luggage.
Whether this can be considered discriminatory is prob in the eye of the beholder. A case could certainly be made for it.

An Atheist gives Credit To Religions
by smiddy ineven though i now consider myself an atheist and have little time for religion as such , i have to acknowledge that some religious institutions , and even some i would consider a cult more so than others , do a fantastic job in the field of charitable works.. for so many in our communities who are disadvantaged ,in one way or another , the down and outs , for a better phrase , those that have succumbed to alcoholism , drug dependency , mental illness in it`s many forms , homeless people , juveniles suffering abuse of one sort or another at home , domestic violence , etc.
etc.
the list just goes on and on .. yet their are religious charitable institutions who are at the forefront of helping these people offering and lending a hand both physically , emotionally , and even financially to support these people without judging them .. so even though i consider myself an atheist i can commend what these religious institutions do to for these people... i can`t say the same thing for jehovah`s witnesses who will take , take , take and give nothing in return.. smiddy.

Amen Smiddy
I am increasingly disturbed by the lack of charity and thus lack of care on the part of JW's.
Anybody with any sense can see that their "preaching work" can be interpreted as simply recruiting for their religion.
What happened to being sensitive to the "appearance" of wrongdoing?
Attention Governing Body!
You have the appearance of not giving a damn about starving or dying people or those recently abused. Guess what? Your kingdom hope..... Does nothing for a person struggling today. It does nothing for someone with 3 months to live. Nothing... Read your bible. Jesus didn't just recruit people and give his followers busy work.
I am an active elder.
I SEE you.
I SEE you.
I will not be silent.

Funny. So true too.
The lack of charity in JW land is inexcusable.

There are two cart witnesses outside of my office window - Faneuil Hall in Boston - should I approach them?
by Billzfan23 ini asked a couple of them farther up the street by north station if they had ever seen beth sarim - and that they should look it up...for some interesting facts about their history.. .
-
xjwsrock
Beth-Sarim is in the Proclaimers book on page 76. (JW's still don't know about it)
ARC is a good topic and more current.
JW's can easily write off the old crazy stuff from the black-and-white picture days. GB member lying in court on youtube is pretty damning. Cognitive Dissonance for days! Lol........
