the watchtower corporation is ripping the carpet out from under sincerity.. they teach that god knows our private thoughts, the inclinations of our heart.
how can they possibly think that it's okay to dangle a drivers license in front of a teenager under condition of baptism?
how can they possibly think it is okay to dangle renewed association with family under condition of reinstatement?.

As their own problems accelerate they are starting to look like the arrogant hypocrites they really are as they continue their us against them crusade.
They are embarrassing themselves. "Pride is before a fall"

for the next two weeks, wt will attempt to lay the basis for their imitation "faith" by discussing the "imitate their faith" book, chapter on the flood.

Fink- yeah i forgot about that. The organization is the ark. Fear-mongering much?
I recently read an explanation of why so many ancient cultures have a flood story.
Everybody basically believed the earth was flat.
So, if you are living in your ancient village, and a huge flood comes and destroys your home and flood waters are as far as the eye can see, then you automatically assume the whole earth flooded. It's flat remember? So 20 ft of water floods the whole earth. Lol.
So all these goofy uneducated paranoid ancient people with their flood stories that were passed down from generation to generation and exaggerated, prove absolutely nothing.

Noah's mother, brothers, and sisters ---**have perished in the flood".
Another attempt to drive a wedge between family members in the congregations.
Translation - Be loyal to the GB to the point of losing all your family.
It's really just recently completely sunk in for me how synonymous their use of "Jehovah" is with "organization" "governing body" "kingdom" etc. It's all just loyalty to them. They are saying the exact same thing with all of the various phrases. There is no Jehovah without the GB in their theology. "Draw closer to Jehovah" means getting more bought in to the org's agenda. "Put Jehovah first" means put the org first in your life. There is no meaningful separation of terms. So it's pure manipulation and deceit.
So when they say we should follow Noah's example of loyalty to Jehovah, they are just using a passage of scripture to coerce loyalty to them. Again,no separation of terms whatsoever.

Totally agree.
If the organization were a person, that person would not be a Christian.
It isn't humble as you say. It isn't open or honest. It most definitely stores up for itself "treasures on earth". It doesn't live with "the end in mind".
That's just a sampling.

what a joke...
I wonder how much of their money was lost to Madoff?
I'm just sayin' ... If I were Almighty God the Creator of the Universe and I had one organization I backed and supported, I would not let it get into a situation like this for it to embarrass itself and me.

That study was dreadful.
It was so bad I just laughed to myself at times during the meeting. It really is just a joke what these people are willing to swallow. The whole spinning flaming sword thing too. I mean really? When was the last time you saw one of those?( Not to mention the obvious anachronism of inserting a bronze age weapon into a stone age story.)
I was mainly bothered myself by what for me was a new thought. Why the hell would Abel become a shepherd with so few people on earth? They didn't eat meat supposedly. It's not like he could sell the wool to a neighboring village.
There was one family on the entire planet!!
Imagine being shipwrecked on an island with half a dozen people. If one guy starts gathering sheep and leading them around instead of gathering firewood or hunting for some food or building a tent or whatever, you would kick his ass!! Get to work you stupid fool! We don't have time to play with animals you fu&&ing moron!
Anyhow I see it as another anachronism of a writer writing in the bronze age. He sees shepherds around and weaves that trade into the Genesis story. There is no way in hell the 2nd man born of woman would become a shepherd. Maybe a fisherman, but not a shepherd.millie210 posted this on another thread - i thought it deserved it's own op:.

They waste no time beginning their spinning and supposition with the Cain/Abel story. They launch a theory that perhaps Eve had the prophecy of Gen. 3:15 in mind when she uttered the words "I have produced a man with the aid of Jehovah".
They slyly introduce this thought with the phrase "her words suggest..." this is what she thought.
Her words in no way suggest anything of the sort but they dont let that fact interfere whatsoever as they continue to build on it but switch tactics and ask the statement they had just made but now its in question form:"Did Eve think she was the woman mentioned in Genesis 3 and Cain was the seed"?
They could have just as easily asked was Eve a unicorn? Because at this point they have just turned it in to a question...no liability/accountability there, right? They then go on to make some strong statements prefaced with "if"
If she fed Cain such ideas growing up, they did his imperfect pride no good."
Then they mention Abel and his names meaning. The meaning is supposedly "breath" "air" "vapor". This word can be used as vanity also as it is later in Ecclesiastes. So guess which meaning they leap on? Breath? Nope.
Vanity. They then make the jaw dropping statement followed by the sneaky question:
Did that choice of a name reflect lower expectations as if they put less hope in Abel than in Cain?We can only guess"
Now that this groundwork has been laid (on absolutely nothing) they warn parents not to "fail" with their children like Eve did by fostering pride and ambition instead of love for Jehovah (apparently these are the only two choices in child rearing) lest you end up with a murderer for a son.
Of course by this time the informational damage has been done. No one discounts everything above when they see that final statement. Instead they get the heavy message that what Cain did is Eves fault and it was due to bad parenting which is defined as NOT teaching your child to love Jehovah but to have pride and ambition instead.
I guess its because my eyes are so open now but I see this SO clearly and I was completely dumbfounded at the audacity with which they do it AND with the apparent nonchalance of the audience who parroted back comments without any seeming shock whatsoever.
Oh, and one final though. They dont have their definition of Abels name very accurately rendered either if you look at outside sources.
Im so glad I got asked to go and that I went. It reinforced why NOT going is such a good idea. In my search for truth, they merely snarl up the process. Such a waste of time.
i was invited to a small get-together by a long time friend.

Did you research the history of this cult at ALL?" Really upsets me sometimes. -WingCommander
I feel your pain...
I am in my 40's. I have had long conversations about things with other brothers in the same age group. Our experience was this. The older generation ruled like tyrants in our congregations looking down on our generation growing up. Pesky kids we were. The organization as a whole was also run by this baby-boomer or older crowd. They were sure Armageddon was coming and they loved their authority positions.
Then one day it was like the old generation up in Brooklyn gave up. They called in the marketing company. The marketing company started them building out a website, digital products, and cartoons for the kids. Now the org caters to the millennial crowd (and their children) putting the single ones and couples through "evangelizer school" and acting like they have a batchelor's degree in JWism when they come out. The last circuit assembly I went to was dominated by early thirties pioneer yes men from this school.
Our generation got skipped over. It was irritating for a number of years. It was one reason I started waking up. Now of course, with being awake to the fraud, it doesn't matter. But other guys in my age group that haven't awakened are not too pleased with the sudden emphasis on brothers younger than us. For years, it was like you had to be 50+ to be used. Now you have to be a 30 year old pioneer "evangelizer school" zealot to be used.
It's obvious what they are doing. They are pushing out the older crowd to force their new agenda. The young guys are too stupid to see they're just being used.
Another embarrassment in the history of this doomsday (that never comes) cult. They lost my generation and will never recover from it in my opinion.
