It's better not to question, it leads to too much thought. -

Maybe I'm Just Ignorant About the New "Anti-Gay" Video
by turtleturtle inhomophobia (m-w.com):.
: irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals.
can someone tell me, specifically, was homophobic about the new "anti-gay" wt video.
-

Comparing homosexuality to carrying a duffle bag seems to be intentional insensitivity and a perpetuating of ignorance. Like someone can just drop homosexual leanings or desires like a dropping a piece of carry-on luggage.
Whether this can be considered discriminatory is prob in the eye of the beholder. A case could certainly be made for it.

An Atheist gives Credit To Religions
by smiddy ineven though i now consider myself an atheist and have little time for religion as such , i have to acknowledge that some religious institutions , and even some i would consider a cult more so than others , do a fantastic job in the field of charitable works.. for so many in our communities who are disadvantaged ,in one way or another , the down and outs , for a better phrase , those that have succumbed to alcoholism , drug dependency , mental illness in it`s many forms , homeless people , juveniles suffering abuse of one sort or another at home , domestic violence , etc.
etc.
the list just goes on and on .. yet their are religious charitable institutions who are at the forefront of helping these people offering and lending a hand both physically , emotionally , and even financially to support these people without judging them .. so even though i consider myself an atheist i can commend what these religious institutions do to for these people... i can`t say the same thing for jehovah`s witnesses who will take , take , take and give nothing in return.. smiddy.

Amen Smiddy
I am increasingly disturbed by the lack of charity and thus lack of care on the part of JW's.
Anybody with any sense can see that their "preaching work" can be interpreted as simply recruiting for their religion.
What happened to being sensitive to the "appearance" of wrongdoing?
Attention Governing Body!
You have the appearance of not giving a damn about starving or dying people or those recently abused. Guess what? Your kingdom hope..... Does nothing for a person struggling today. It does nothing for someone with 3 months to live. Nothing... Read your bible. Jesus didn't just recruit people and give his followers busy work.
I am an active elder.
I SEE you.
I SEE you.
I will not be silent.

Funny. So true too.
The lack of charity in JW land is inexcusable.

There are two cart witnesses outside of my office window - Faneuil Hall in Boston - should I approach them?
by Billzfan23 ini asked a couple of them farther up the street by north station if they had ever seen beth sarim - and that they should look it up...for some interesting facts about their history.. .
-
xjwsrock
Beth-Sarim is in the Proclaimers book on page 76. (JW's still don't know about it)
ARC is a good topic and more current.
JW's can easily write off the old crazy stuff from the black-and-white picture days. GB member lying in court on youtube is pretty damning. Cognitive Dissonance for days! Lol........

Stay in the Boat

In my opinion the Mormons have a lot more to offer than JWs do. They make JWs look like amateurs. Business, college education, politics, community, charity.
Jws are full of poor, uneducated misfits that are waiting for the New World to be their communist equalizer. In the meantime they take antidepressants and mumble kingdom songs.

Building 500 new kingdom halls?
by Coded Logic inthe wtbts has to know they aren't actually going to see their numbers significantly jump anytime soon/ever right?
are they planning on cutting the rbc down to 1/10th the work force so they can actually slow down their kh projects instead of increasing them?
or do they think their little website scheme is actually going to bring in more people?.

They aren't allowed to say boo. They aren't allowed to look behind the curtain.
Here is a theory. Maybe the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Just for sake of argument, let's say the board of directors is awake and the GB are the delusional ones. The GB comes up with this building extravaganza expecting God to swoop in and bless the project because they prayed together and are the chosen ones. The board meanwhile is telling them they are nut jobs and the company is already losing money.
Anyway, the GB win out and launch this LDC bologna. 9 months later money is pouring out on construction and the same trickle is coming in like before. In other words they are hemorrhaging money. The board shuts them down. GB are left to deal with reality and embarrassment.
They proceed with PR damage control and here we are. Just a theory...
