Need help on the subject of "Intolerance"
by EdenOne ini would like to locate some information within the publications with comments from the wts that could help me build a case.. case in point is: can an individual jw hold different views on doctrine from those held by the "organization" and still continue to be a jw if he chooses to, and if he keeps his opinions only to himself?.
i remember a recent magazine making comments regarding the intolerance of other religions who limit the freedom of their members to study the bible....or another one (publishers book?
) about those who harbored doubts about the course of events within the organization but remained inside.. i got an excellent quote from rutherford in the booklet "intolerance" but that was from 1936 already.

Christmas is WRONG!

how can you leave god's organization to celebrate the work of satan the devil?
it just goes to show you how jehovah's christian witnesses are correct about how persons will leave the truth for their own selfish desires.. first off, christmas is a pagan holiday and it proves no spirit with the almighty jehovah and his son, the christ.

by KateWild inwe are all set for a lovely xmas week and nice holiday, but this image is indellably printed in my brain and i cannot erase it.. .
it's from the bible teach book, chapter 16 para 11. i did that many bible studies and trained them how we need to make a stand for true worship and not ever return to pagan practices.. so now over this season of good will, and fun i have a literal bitter taste.. are you having flash backs?
how can we remove these images from our brain?

by NAVYTOWN inis it really true that jw children get gifts 'all through the year', not just for christmas and birthdays like non- jw kids?
as stingy as most jws are, i find that very hard to believe.
plus the childhood magic of christmas and birthdays is totally absent in jw households.

WT Wizard, EXACTLY... how can JW parents be so dumb or self delusional, I hate it when they say "they all look so stressed" and "how do they afford it!" And "its all just so commercial!"
their religion is all commercial, THEY may struggle to afford it because of a poor wage in a poor job due to no higher education. As for everyone running around at xmas looking stressed, My experience us that people are usually super happy... The ones that are strained are so because they want to give their family and kids a great crimbo!
How does it compare to the stress and cost of a district assembly. Exactly! JW kids have a miserable time! Not even a day off all week.
Now i just think 'how dare you point fingers at non jw parents!'

as regards pursuing higher education?
the co continued...you know in view of all the counsel from the slave regarding the dangers.

The study data tells us from more than one source, with a ten year gap (latest 2009) that JW's are CONSISTANTLY the MOST UNEDUCATED religious denomination AND THE POOREST (Second to old black origin churches).
if you or someone you know is a JW and in education, they are swimming against the tide of JW written and unwritten rules & governing body council. You may have an education, but you post on an apostate website too. When I was 14, a JW in our hall & circuit got baptised on the saturday of a special day assembly, he was going to university on the monday. The whole circuit was bitching about this poor guy and they even did a talk on it, using a JW kid who decided against uni and chose pioneering, from the same hall as this guy. My mum even said congrats to his mum but "sorry to hear he is going to university".
To pretend that such things didn't or don't happen is simply untrue.

What a great first Christmas!
by dazed but not confused inwhat a great day!.
once the kids were in bed, i set up my daughters new kitchen play set took me a little over 2 hours but was fun.
this morning we came down stairs and the joy on my kids faces and the wow!

Just sent letter to my parents that I no longer want to be a JW
by ?evrything ini was a born in.
both parents are uber dubs and mother has been depressed lately.
so i m super nervous.

I think (imho) it is important to use nothing but the bible and JW literature with 'uber JW's'.
These are two sources I used and it helped me immensley with a lifelong JW who has now began fading....

Thankfully we live in a society that allows freedom of choice, you have yours, we NOW have ours. Wait until april and you can enjoy the very non pagan (trying not to laugh) passing around of THE BLOOD OF A GOD and HIS BONES beneath a FULL MOON......
