Ahh Tec,
Could you tell us any philosophy or teaching unique to Jesus and no other human as you have chosen to credit him with them?
With the gospels being handpicked and edited for a political message, how can you quote the new testament or hold any beliefs held in them? The very idea of a Jesus charachter is founded on books proven to be manipulated. Let's not even go into the books chosen and ignored.
Tec, your hipocrisy is as clear as day to everyone but yourself. You say you know which scriptures are legitimate as they do not contradict scriptures you hold true, namely the ideaology of Jesus. You dont have access to a source of data other than the bible as formed by the catholics, to use the teachings of christ to determine what is right or wrong in the bible is nonsensical, the verses about Jesus ARE IN THE BIBLE TOO !!!!!
You handpick the verses on Jesus and for no reason make them the ultimate authority to judge the rest of the bible, do you not see the illogical nature of this approach?
Further to that are you aware of the history of...
Heaven
Sin & Forgivness
Monotheism
The son of a deity, his death and ressurection (long before the new testament, and not stories of Jesus).
If you do alongside knowledge on the history of the bible, you will know that the verses on Jesus you use to judge the rest of the bible, are arguably the most illegitimate of the whole book ! All these teachings are older than the jews as a people, they are beliefs that began in pagan worship and slowly evolved into teachings the jews held dear. The origin being anything but inspired!
Back to the gospels, they contradict each other constantly, they were written AT EARLIEST 30yrs after jesus dies and most likely over 70 years after. This in a time where only word of mouth was used until it was written. The logic of using these words as an an authority of anything is ridiculous! Why these scrolls from the desert overy any other Tec ? Your answers are usually about Jesus.. a charachter IN THE SCROLL. Do you see your issue in doing that ? 'JesusChrist' is as much evidence as you need, his name would have been Ieshua and Christ is a greek term.... This is a huge clue to the pollution of the message, even the name is clearly historically incorrect. I bet you NEVER call him Ieshua! What else is wrong ?
As for the message of 'Jesus' it promotes and defends slavery and even being a good slave, he treats women terribly, his attitude to the poor was disgusting, his words on breaking up the family are reprehensible and those EXACT words are respoinsible for much pain on this very forum. He talks of returning, then returned several times accordinf to the gospels, though the end did not come in any of those returns... What reason is there to hang on the words of a text with no historical or spiritual authority, none of the message is uniue, none of it is historically evidential and it is FULL of inconsistancies, how on earth can you, do you, use these verses as an authority to judge everything else?
I just dont get it Tec, then you respond by talking about Jesus... a charachter in the scrolls.... it is like me promoting that Superman is real, then quoting the superman film script as evidence.... of course the bit where he fly's around the earth to change time is made up, i use the script from the first movie to judge the others... and in the first film, the laws of physics are respected.
Do you see the issue...

Metatron,
Are you here in an attempt to give the impression that this community is one of conspiracy theory? When I see such thread titles, the author is obvious every time.
UFO's, JFK, Crazy pseudo science, Moon theories, FEMA fear..... anything Alex Jones would love....
This is all so unlike a JW, I am unsure how genuine you are being here as you don't really comment on anybody else's threads, you simply post these wildly speculative stories. You don't EVER discuss Watchtower, especially in a negative light, unless being WILDLY bizzare such as recent claims of a Jewish connection to HQ geography.... :/
I really struggle to believe that someone is this silly, are you a plant?
This site has released information and announcments sometimes over a year in advance to Watchtower, I have seen lots of conspiracy websites and yet to see ANYTHING be proven true. This site hits home runs continously. If you are trying to smear it, it is a laughable attempt.
If I am wrong, if you are sincerely engrossed in all of this wild conspiracy, my apoogies..... but then again, maybe some critical appraisal skillls would save you posting such obious dupe stories.

It is quite interesting to watch an honest observer of the bible and an apologetic observer of the bible debate eachother.
Kate has looked at the bible, looked at real life and concluded.... hmm this doesnt make sense, but I need to believe in god, so therefore god is 'x' a very different god to that of the bible.
Tec has looked at the bible and at real life and concluded.... hmm this doesnt make sense, but I believe in the god of SOME of the bible, the bits that make sense and the bits about god that I like, so therefore god is 'y' based on cherry picked scriptures, avoiding the dodgy ones, avoiding world events that disagree with her perception of god 'y'.
Kate defends her stand by being honest and saying despite there being no evidence and the bible being a very inhumane book, she needs to believe in some kind of god, she has moved god further and further away from humans as the evidence has been shown her. She has removed him from creation as science has made evident, and removed him from human activity as life has made evident. A sincere quandry that we all had when being brave enough to question.
Tec defends her stance of choosing scriptures to support over those to reject by claiming jesus/god communicates with her directly. She uses the bible to defend her beliefs, but if you show contradiction in the bible, she will dismiss those verses as being human in origin. This stance is as unique as Tec and her posts, it is one that nobody but Tec can discuss or debate as she alone experiences this interaction with a deity, a miracle in itself. Tec offers no evidemce and ignores evidence that contradicts her view, much like her ability to ignore scriptures that disagree with her view.
We can only hope that at some point, they both recognise that all of this is simple speculation. There is no evidence FOR these views and in fact a mountain of evidence AGAINST them. The history and evolution of these religious beliefs and texts being the most obvious, and after talking to Tec for some time she has so far not managed to read and examine the history of the bible and Judeo Christian beliefs. Amaing really, it should have been the first thing we ALL did before picking up a bible....
On recognising this is nothing but, hope, speculation and personal want..... maybe soon they will be honest and qualift everything with a "......but in honesty, this is just my personal view, in realty WE JUST DON'T KNOW."
That after all, is simply the stance of all non believers. Nobody here can prove to me that Zeus did not exist, the best we can say is "we don't know."

by snare&racket inignoring the fact that all but the super jw's had a random stab at hours done in the ministry, with all the different activities the society said counted as ministry hours, just how accurate is there annual report?.

The whole thing is an embarassing, angering time in our lives..... they stole our youth. Those hours reported are not an indicator of hours preaching a good news, it is an indicator of how many hours of youth, retirement, spare time, have been stolen, NEVER to get back.

The uk bethel had one bethel overseer who you meet on your tour, who writes articles for awake. I took an interest in him and asked a lot of questions. On a side note, it was clear that he felt to get an article selected for the magazines was HUGE but very rare. He tried to fake some humility, saying he could not say what articles he wrote (must be some rule if an article is accepted) but he then went on to show me some. I was expecting some real gem articles, but it was all the bullshit like "Coconuts, natures milk cartons" or "Africa, the earths back garden"... those kinda nonsense articles.
Anyway, he had his own personal library, I am sure he said he had the most unique and extensive personal bible library in the uk. He tried to impress me with tiny bibles, old bibles, foreign bibles etc.... he was very friendly to be honest, but the desperation to impress was palpable and the obvious desperation to be noticed by Brooklyn, even more so. As a young JW I was suprised that he had all these 'false' bibles, all these commentaries from satan's world. Surely the holy spirit was all that was needed.... Yuck! What a dumb arse I was....
H then took me to the library in bethel, one for the bethelites, one for the writers that was NOT for anyone but them. He actually said it contained material not best read by anyone but the writing department. This should have rang alarm bells in me....but it didn't. Though it did all seem very unusual, I just didn't expect to see or hear it at bethel.
As I said goodbye and left we went past an old sister that looked about 379 years old, I swear her fingers were red raw, she was in a space the size of a coat room, she was so old she didnt talk or respond, she simply remained lent over an ancient machine with fine strings coming off it... she was binding old watchtower books. I asked the tour guide, some cynical guy that worked on reception, what that was about... he said her and her husband are allowed to live and eat at bethel, they were long time servants, special pioneers, but nobody can stay for free... so they have to work. I mentioned her husband before, he worked next to me in mailing, he literally put stamps on the deliveries. He did not talk, he shuffled around, he also made the tea. The memory of these 2 people sum up the cost of loyalty to Watchtower... they will be dead by now, with nothing to show for it, working to the end, for a book company. Shameful !
Sorry for the waffle, but that is as best as I remember my experience with the bethel library. There was definetly a seperate one for the writers. It had a half wall surrounding it, with glass from the wall up, old school like glass with the crossed wire in it . There library was small. I was suprised at how cheap and old the uk bethel was actually, the rooms at IBSA were embarassingly awful.
Ok sorry, before I waffle more... I am off....

Weana, I was a full time pioneer and assistant overseer on the quick builds around the years 97-2000. I was also a bethelite.
This 100% did happen, it was not a reduced hours of ministry exemption, I remember clearly them putting a limit on the number of hours YOU COULD COUNT AS MINISTRY whilst doing quick builds.
The JW's change like the wind, so maybe it has changed now. Back then it was 90hrs a month and such exemptions brought pioneers from all over. Also I assure you pioneers are used to visit elderly and sick JW' and they USED to count their time for sure. One pioneer would take them to doctors etc and count their time. We used to go to the hospital (that I am writing to you now from...under slightly different circumstances) and spend the afternoon visiting the local ones in.
You don't have to believe me, but we certainly did it and it appears we were not the only ones.

Exactly guys, acual time spent in ministry TALKING to another human being is a smal percentage of those recorded hours.
Assuming an hour a week for each bible study reported plus say an hour a month actually talking to people on the doors, this does not add up to much person to person preaching. Knocking on an empty door is just a sad waste of time, the ridiculously high number of hours reported is just a sad indictment of how much time is wasted for this publishing company by its followers, whatever activity they are counting.
I must admit, visiting the sick and elderly JW's was a worthy activity, though with heindsight I should have been busy advancing my life too, be it education or a career. But I did enjoy catching up and checking up on them. It is also why I enjoy my job now.
But yes, those hours reported are PURE FABRICATION of the statistics, real preaching time is probabl less than 10% of that figure.
