i just found this out last night.

(preface: this is a husband and wife that i have come to be friends with after leaving the borg, they are christians).

we were sitting around visiting last night and having a good time when my friend starts in on illegal immigration and politics and starts throwing out his hate speech which eventually turns to homosexuals.

I was also told in australia by young JW's that they were told demons burined the bones to test us.

i don't understand why so many ex jws and faders think that the jws will continue to grow and thrive as a religion.

i still attend a meeting once a week and you can smell the death of the religion creeping up when you hear the talks, read the study wts and hear the letters from the gb.

the way the organization has changed is a sign that it reached its peak (in "healthy" membership) long ago.

Whether it lives on a 100 years or dies in the information age of now, it matters not. It is still a vindictive lie wrapped in a cult, packaged as hope. Some can't resist the offer of a free package so the numbers may grow......some will always be too afraid when they find the package empty and the threats begin, so some nimbers will remain.

on friday, on the last speech of the morning, (the "key speech"), a bethel member slipped in some "new light" rather casually, without much fuss.

he mentioned the out-of-body experience of the apostle paul, in 2 corinthians 12:2-4, where he experienced being "caught up to the third heaven ... caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible words...".

The manure they spew out to their members is nonsense, it is illogical, uninformed, ignorant nonsense. Anyone with a shred of knowledge of ancient Jewish beliefs knows of the 7 layers of heaven and the bible writers for Paul were obviously referring to these.

There are 8 men in Brooklyn either outright making bible intepretations up on the spot, despite their window cleaning backgrounds or giving the nod to likewise ignorant uneducated members of the writing team looking to make a name for themselves with a new idea.

When I say ignorant and uneducated, they are not trained in history, ancient languages, ancient beliefs, nor ade they bible scholars.

At the end of the day it is pseudo-truth, pseudo-knowledge........utter bullshit.

Flick on the history channel for 2 minutes to hear real knowledge, pawn stars will do! Far more accurate info from Chumlee...

I understand why people believe the earth isn't round ....because those desk globes are not originals.

Denying the existence of dinosaurs is the ultimate example of cognitive dissonace, outright denying of observable reality.

We don't just have their mineralised remains, but have found their footprints. They lived, they walked.

Genesis 4 says that the earth was formed, then Adam was made..... then he named all the the created animals, the NT tells us this was 6000yrs ago. Reality proves this impossible.

If we dig down into the earth, going backwards in time, we never find animals from different ages anywhere but in their time layer. This defies so much of what the religious fundementalists believe.

The video is a summary of his book apog, of course he can't go deeply in covering hundreds of years of history in 60 mins. But he does keep citing his references for people that want to find out more without reading his book.

I found it ery interesting, I have not heard such things said before about the book of acts, timothy, etc. It is also good to know what is true and what is not true when comparing jesus to other myths.

This guy is a historian thag used to believe in Jesus and now he does not, he explains how he researched the information used to defend jesus' existence.

People think of atoms as floating balls, they are not ... they are highly active due to to the energy levels in their outer electron layer. Their enviroment including other atoms dictate their reaction and behaviour.
