  yeah this website is poor in it's filter for good / pseudo science.... I know it quotes a journal, but that doesn't mean diddly squat, every paper needs appraising individually.

  Honestly, this is very premature. I wasn't going to say anything only lamallcool said about sending it to his parents. This is exciting science and I have been awaiting this exact technologu for some time, (since my genetics class before med school) & I truly hope they have what they say they have.

  But science has already devloped cures for disease.... it long ago proved WT not only wrong but irrelevant. Watchtower has never so much as raised money for medical research or even someomes trestment, never mind brought cures to the world. Meanwhile... science has. Simply look at the stats for pre and post vaccinations, sometjing that Jehovah's Witnesses were against in the very recent past.

  Cures for disease, fighting off of death, removal of pain, increased quality of life..... all things watchtower PROMISE, but it remains behind a curtain that nobody but 8 men in NY have been granted ti see behind and understsnd, you just need to follow their instructions to one day have it!

  Cures for disease, fighting off of death, removal of pain, increased quality of life..... all things available today, now and free for all to know, via science.

  A JW I know said no to an amazing new treatment recently, because she wanted to wait for Jehovah.... there are no words to convey the sense of disgust at the blood spilt, lives lost & wasted, treatment refused, science rebuked and doctrines died for.....all to protect the ego of 8 men in New York who have gone too far & who carry too much responsibility to now admit their human, ignorant uneducated status.

  it's a creepy religion with creepy pictures of death and judgment and demons and genocide and human sacrifice's and bizzare immoral depictions of 'loyal servants'..... looking for faces in the clouds SHOULD be the least of concerns to a parent with their head screwed on....

  Scriptural reason why only the anointed can partake?

  its weird, but im trying to find scriptures used by the wtbs to back the following assumption:.

  *** w81 4/1 p. 12 celebrating the death of the greatest man ever on earth ***.

  it is because the founder of the celebration set it up for observance by those with whom he made a covenant for the heavenly kingdom.. .

  Before I answer....I'm an atheist and history has proven to me beyond doubt that the bible is very human and not of deity origins.....

  That being said, note that Watchtower teach that nobody was anointed until pentecost 33, AFTER jesus had died. So nobody at that upper room, consuming the last meal was 'anointed'.

  Simply ask an elder to read the verses pre "keep doing this in remembersnce of me" and ask them if we should in any way change or alter how it was done? when they say no.... then mention that none of them were anointed, why do WT add that rule? 'He' said keep doing THIS.... not anything more or less.

  Are you a good person?

  something happened this week to make me think about this again.. it feels like all bets are off and i really don't know what a good person is anymore.. when i left the jws i was so sure i knew what it meant to be a good person.. this has been revised many times since.. i tend to favour the utilitarian approach, the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people.. sometimes you have to stick your neck out and say this is not good for me no matter what others may feel they need from me.. no idea where i'm going with this maybe this is a breakthrough in my life or maybe that glass of wine was stronger than i thought!.

  any thoughts?.

  For me good has come down to motive and intention. 90% of people are decent good people. For me personally, evil does not exist. Evil is a bizzare religious concept. A siding with satan over god being its foundation. if we take that away, we are left with a difference in nature and nurture altering an individuals oersoective of the world.

  A bad person used to mean someone who didn't highlight or underline a free bi-monthly american magazine.....

  A shameful mis-educational book. When I think of all the bad things WT have told us/sold us..... this was the most deceptive piece of work they ever had me read and consume. This book alone is unforgivable, the deceit is staggering.....

  Parents and WT underestimate the fear of satan and demons that kids carry around...... it is profound. you never hear WT telling the youth not to watch horror movies...because they aren't watching them!!!

  until I asked myself one day...'wait a minute what exactly have I ever seen or experienced personally..." the answer being ...'nothing', i too was in fear even as a young man.

  i will miss that young mans highly entertaining, insightful and memorable material.

  i am happy for him as he is moving forward in his life.. his jc hearings i listened to while sitting with my father in icu for so many weeks.

  A preist , Pastor , or minister of religion that uses the Bible or an i-pad , who in your eyes would command your respect .

  i ask this because of an experience over the weekend when two witnesses came to my door , and he tried to use his i-pad to witness to me, which i wasnt intersted in.. my theory is this is going to backfire on them .

  the majority of people in christendom , whether they practice it or not have a reverence , if not a deep respect for the written word , the bible , as a holy book.

  a sacred book.. i dont beleive a householder who is a christian is going to be impressed by someone who quotes scriptures from an i-pad.. religous books have been considered sacred for centuries , their is an awe about them .

  2 J dubs at my door this morning .

  my wife and i are presently interstate house sitting for a freind , and this morning 2 jw`s called unexpectedly of course .

  after their introducing themselves.

  they offered the invitation to the memmorial which i rejected , then let him present his spiel , nothing has changed by the way .. i had them their for about an hour , i`m on holidays nothing better to do this morning except keep them away from other doors .and of course they were prepared to stay.
