Just Kidding... your reply is nuts dude x Think about what you are saying, it is a contradiction...
It is funny how you can live amongst a group of people and develop a warped sense of reality. I have relatives that argue against my point about education and wages by saying things like "what is wrong with being a window cleaner" and "they can earn a fortune!"
anyone thinking JW's are wealthy, the statistics prove otherwise. Take into consideration credit cards, no pensions, poor wages and come back in 20 or 30 years time and see how they are doing. I also like how you say they are becoming materialistic, rough translation they may have a new car, nice holiday, maybe an iphone.... NEWSFLASH... this is the real normality, there is nothing wrong in owning any of these things, give a reasoned explination as to why owning things or enjoying yourself is wrong......you won't be able to, also every penny and dollar they spend increases your GDP, which represents your countries wealth which means it can borrow more, allow the WT to have their tax break and provide welfare for the pioneers who can't make ends meet.
I was a window cleaner, I worked in a shop, I was a builder, worked on a farm, was a plumber for a while too. I have no issue with saying I wouldn't want my kids a'ing momey by washing the glass on householders homes for a living. Not many kids have window cleaner as an ambition!
The Jehovah's Witnesses.... where dreams and goals are narrowed down......window cleaner, joiner, carpet fitter, plumber...
I can't believe ANYONE with sense debates this. Ask a window cleaner if he would rather be an , lawyer, doctor, vet, pilot, sports professional, musician, economist, designer, engineer, writer, artist, senator, PRESIDENT..no? .....space man.....you really think they are still saying 'no'?
If someone has no goals or ambition.....something is wrong and someone is to blame. A very sad situation.

"This Generation" at the meeting today
by Batman89 init was really quite amusing 2day at the meeting when we got to the "this generation will not pass away" subheading in the wt.
the conductor spent very little time on the section and the comments that were given didnt at all make sense really.
you can tell its not understood by the majority of the friendsand will go over there heads, i was trying not to laugh lol.

this should be shown to loved ones and ask...."was this irresponsible?" and ask "how do you know anything has changed, is it irresponsible that they are saying it now too?"

Nice conversation
by GoUnion inhello everyone i just wanted to give a litte update on what happened today with my tolerant, but still active jw wife.
she was at the sunday morning meeting today and when she came home she told me the wt study was about the revised overlapping generation setting.
there has been some tension whenever we discuss my differences with current wt beliefs so i was surprised she brough this up.

Super happy for you, the start of her mind breaking free. it takes time, it is slow and somtimes she may take a few stps backward. leave her be and she will find her way out of the indoctrination maze. Just be ready with answers for when she is brave enough to share her questions EXACTLY like you did today.
Great to hear, for both your sake, really x

El was the ancient god of that region, isra-EL means city of god. Elohim, eli etc etc all come from this ancient god El. Some say the word EL meant god, but historians have evidence for worship to El and though it may have become later part of the language to generically mean El, there was a god named El in the region, BEFORE the concept of Yaweh existed.
I read this all years ago, forgive me if I mixed anything up.

If you mean by name...jehovah.... then you need to do some research.
it was first ever used......700 years after Jesus. I don't mean the latin version, I mean the oringinal idea of mixing up the sentence YHWH (he causes what he wills) and the vowels from adonai (LORD) to make YaHoWaH or YaWeH.....later in latin JaHoVaH.
The idea came from a monk, copying out the old scrolls, he thought it may be a secret code and so miced the two together... so ask yourself if noah, a mesapotamian charachter from an older story of Gilgamesh knew a word made thousands of years later by a monk with an idea.....

The irony of a bunch of us exJW's complaining that this was ridiculous for its inaccuracy, concept and unbridled fantasy.........
We all bought into the most ridiculous of stories, concepts and fantasy and we ate it up for years lol....
Kinda funny x

the watchtower claims this is why armageddon hasn't come yet....apparently ol' j-man is showing how awful man is at governing himself.

Band on the run.... should hate groups who promote violence, unequality and persecution be banned?
What if a religious group becomes that?
I am alll for free thought and free speech and freedom.... should we stop people that intefere with other peoples right to these things?
In america religious people have blown up hospitals, killed doctors, killed gay people, voted in restrictive draconian laws.... a kid was kicked out of school last week because she looked too much like a boy for the religious schools liking.... its 2014! They quoted scripture for the reason they booted her!
I hate the idea of banning anything or anyone, but there has to be a line drawn when we encroach on other people's freedoms....
It is a difficult and uncomfortable conversation and I have no issue with religions existing at all, but any group or movement affecting their neighbours freedom is an issue, be them religious or not. It is a touchy subject for sure....
I am expecting....what about someone's freedom of worship....COOL... no problem, but no worship trumps someone else's freedom.
