You could always send repeated freedom of information requests to see how the money was transferred and spent.
They can’t punish you for that, they may try to buy the legal system would be on your side if they did.
a letter was read tonight in our kingdom hall that the money that the circuits in the indianapolis area had in savings to build a new assembly hall will now be transferred to the www to build kingdom halls in lands where they are needed and a new assembly hall for us will not be built.. we had a beautiful assembly hall near downtown indy that was paid for.
it was sold a couple of years ago.
we were promised a new assembly hall to be built in southern ohio near the indiana border but they can kiss that goodbye now.

did anyone else develop a weird fear of dying and death after leaving jw?
i recently left and have realized for the first time in my life that i’m not going to live forever.
anyone else have these same feelings toward discovering your own mortality?
i grew up a jw, left at about 17 years old..(i'm 33 now) a little over a year ago i moved 1000 miles away from where i grew up.
today i "ran" into someone in the same congregation as my dad... like how is that even possible?!?!?
he was very kind, mentioned the borg but only in ways that related to his life.. his daughter is a pioneer, my dad gives "the best" comments at the meetings, my sister is awesome.. blah blah blah... .
I once sat next to someone in Manchester airport who was also flying to the same country....county.... street.... next door! More that that my relatives owed the neighbouring bungalow and ran it as a B&B.
We wildly misunderstand and underestimate probability as humans.
As for the comments I have literally has the exact ones said to me. On finding out I had completed a degree and was in a profession, one ex elder insisted on telling me how well all my relatives were doing in the KH, like it was a competition. I just thought of all the wasted hours, days, weeks, months, years they lost and continue to lose.
have you seen this in the news tonight?

I always felt it was wrong the s-8 forms were stopped to protect WT but we were asked to continue them in our own notebooks, exposing us legally as individuals.
Then they ignored the repeated tally of RV’s / Bible studies etc without consent,
They think they are above the law and had a flagrant disregard for data protection...,....unless you abuse children.
i’m in australia so i wanted to know if it’s possible to obtain information on the companies that the wbts invests in currently in the us?
is there a legitimate site where this information can be found as i prefer to look it up myself than just go by what other people say.
that would be no different than running my life according the the wt and i’m done with that..
How about a military company? How about a direct link to the American gov’s SEC file to prove it?

so my cousin phoned and told me my jw sister was taken to hospital with chest pains and it may have been a slight heart attack or possibly she's starting with angina.
now as some of you know my sisters and brother have had little to do with me for 29 years.
we've met at funerals, or arranged them, but i just thought today what if she did die?
Just do what a normal sister would do.
Call.
Don't play their games by their rules, because it’s all make belief.
has anyone tried to get their jw report cards and any other info using a freedom of information request?
would london bethel have all this information?.
truthseeker.
Have you simply tried calling them and asking?
Its datavthey haven on you, so you can see it but it may require a request via a solicitor, or a formal request only from you.
hi guys.
just wanted to share this with you as it's kind of got me worried.
my brother who was also raised in "the truth™" met me in town today for a coffee.
The government has great support and services for people like your brother, please call social services and get them involved. Also visit the local GP with him.
Local JW’s are not equivelant to qualified carers and is an unfair pressure to put on a vulnerable adult, as the support system is conditional on loyalty and support of the church not your brothers needs. It’s actualky outrageous and if his carers stop attending to him because of his change in religious belief they possibly could be liable for a lack of duty of care.
good afternoon , .
i have been having doubts for many years and as most jw's i have certainly not done myself a favor by suppressing all of my critical thinking.
i am married with 3 kids and my wife and i are inactive, but my wife has made it very clear in speech and action that she wants to go to all meetings, field service, and indoctrinate our kids.
Huge amount of sympathy for you.
Much respect for your realisation that there is a choice of comfort or truth and that by choosing research, critical thinking and logic .... it’s going to be costly and uncomfortable now ...... but for your children’s sake it’s worth the price that they will know ‘the truth about the truth’ and have a door out of it with you, with which will come a more valuable comfort than the one from pretending it’s all ok now.
There is no defence for denying data/information or logic/critical thinking. The real truth doesn’t need defending, it will defend itself.
I am so lucky that I foresaw that one day I’d leave and didn’t marry a JW. I have no right to an opinion therefore. However..... 😉..... I would humbly advise that if you had no kids you could
do as you please, but with having kids, in my humble opinion, your responsible for raising them to research, be critical appraisars of data and logical ..... and basically as their Dad are responsible for showing them reality.
What may cost your marriage may very well save your kids. Tough decision but not a hard choice.
i have been meeting with member's of the kingdom hall, and i have attended a few times now on sundays.
i'd like to discuss experiences with this group since i'm new.
so far, i love it.
If you believe they study the bible deeply, go research the beginning of the use of the name Jehovah or Yaweh and then ask a JW to explain it or discuss it.
Their biblical knowledge is superficial and cherry picked.
