Congratulations!
incredibly uplifting to hear! I love learning that others are embracing higher education. There is more than just careers and security at stake, but critical thinking and data analysis, skills that can help you avoid the pitfalls of misinformation, cults and internet 'experts'.
Ignore the negative comments from people who have never completed higher education, the fact they choose to attempt to tarnish your joy by commenting on something they have never themselves experienced says much about them as a person.
If he works hard, gets through the degree and chooses topics that either guarantee a career or for which he is deeply passionate, it can only be a good experience for him.
I am incredibly happy for you both!
I went from being a window cleaning, ex bethelite, to a university lecturer and hospital emergency physician thanks to hard work and education. The family members who have pursued education alongside me have had very rewarding careers also.
I owe my lovely new secure life to higher education and promote it at every opportunity!
All the best,
Snare

I know for a fact you are not black, just by your comments and opinions on black issues, despite me never seeing you state the colour of your skin.
Isn't that a sad state of affairs.

Drastic Upcoming Changes? (accelerated by the pandemic)
by JWTom ingood to see you again!
much discussion now about the fallout that is coming due to impacts of the pandemic combined with the long-term downward spiral of jw.org.
i am active as a pimo and my wife is pimi....much of our personal conversation and conversation with others in jw land focuses on how things will play out for jw.org in the next 12-24 months.

Religions have survived centuries by carefully following the same concept, regular public worship with a theme of obedience in the presence of local hierarchy and dollops of personal guilt ......it all works too well to ignore.
Oh and of course... passing the plate....

Derek Chauvin - The Right to a Fair Trial
by Simon inanyone following the derek chauvin trial?.
if you are actually following it, not just listening to the media, you will likely realize that there is a huge gap between what is going on in court and what is being reported in the media.. if the trial was fair, i think he should be acquitted.
there is plenty of reasonable doubt about the cause of death (his dealer doesn't want to testify because he could be guilty of 3rd degree murder for selling him a fatal amount of fentanyl) and even doubt over whether the officer even had his knee on the guys neck or did anything counter to what they were meant to do as per policy.. but is it fair?

"Black lives murder"
I assume this finally breaches the rules on this site.
Ignorant racism has no place in a frank and open discussion.
Enough now! Seriously!

Watched the medical evidence and police experts. I have no horse in the race or agenda on American justice.
Looks to me like the jury did a great job and the evidence was overwhelming.
Justice served.

How long did it take before you realized that you missed the obvious?
by pistolpete inremember when the public speaker in the kingdom hall or convention related the ten plagues and the parting of the red sea?.
the finale when jehovah closes the red sea and swallows pharaoh's entire army of egyptian men.. when i was a little kid about 5 years old and listened to this story, i would think---wow jehovah is strong.
when i started school and started learning compassion as early as the first grade i started wondering?????.

Drearyweather you have blown my mind.....
That conversation has been rattling around in my head for decades. My parents had left the witnesses and returned in 1991, I started high school in 92 and I believe it was that year I was indeed working with the CO on the ministry. I even remember the weather and the village we were in.
I wonder if he wrote in, it seems so exact to what I asked?
I mistakenly thought I had asked it as an adult in the past, but on picturing who the CO was (Edward Molyneux, his facial expression is burned into my memory) I was a kid when he was our CO, starting high school.
Crazyyyy

The whole world has watched that video with disgust,
The Minneapolis use of force police coordinator Lt Mercil called the knee restraint seen on film "unauthorised" and an "act of aggression." LA police sgt Stiger called it "excessive" force.
The fentanyl/cardiac disease hypothesis are embarrassing.
Let personal bias and prejudices begin....

100% agree pistol pete
I remember asking a circuit overseer if Adam in the garden of Eden needed a sword for any reason? He said no...
So Jehovah invented the Sword, not man then? i asked. He looked confused,
The spinning sword protecting the garden of eden, existed before Adam sinned. Why would god invent a weapon, a weapon responsible for the death of millions?
Why does nobody attribute its design to god? Surely this makes the concept of a sword unique, holy?
He thought I was crazy, I was just a kid though!
Re-read the bible without the cult hat on and there is a "Wait a minute!l" every other verse!
I think it was Ingersoll who said "Why would I listen to the advice on raising children by the same God that decided to drown his own?"
My favourite, Hitchens said, had god asked him to take his child to a mountain, bind him then slaughter him like an animal.... he would say "F**£ you!" and suffer the consequences!
People put a 'dunce' hat on when reviewing these stories and remove themselves emotionally, logically and ignore anything inquisitive.

1) Every season is dominated by the most virulent, contagious pathogen. Basic evolution.
2) People are isolating and using hand hygiene and masks.
3) People acted on the concern of flu/CV19 concerns and got jabbed
4) The flu hasn't gone anywhere, we still detect it on PCR (hail to all the new PCR internet experts who qualified in 2020).
5) Incidentally in the UK alone we have approx 110,000 additional deaths to a normal year, the expected number of deaths include the flu. As you may remember the experts saying, this global pandemic is not 'just like a flu' so the numbers and news coverage don't compare...rightly so.
6) Brazil has just reported 60,000 deaths in a month. The flu is kind of not the story right now......we are in the middle of a CORONAVIRUS pandemic, not INFLUENZA. However 'the flu' is said a lot on internet forums nowadays.
7) Don't worry, If you live long enough, you may see an influenza pandemic too!
8) Jab or don't jab, it is your life, your choice, your critical appraisal of the data/youtube vids!
9) "What if-----------THE FLU IS COVID!!!!!!" - piztol pete
!0) "Pistol, do you think??Do you know how many people have said that a year and a half ago they had strange symptoms that the doctors didn’t know what it was except they said it was probably the flu and that they needed to take a flu shot." -minimouse
Yeah so going back a good 15 years plus now, patients that comes in with flu symptoms to a hospital, get a PCR test that checks the DNA of the pathogen... if they have influenza.... DING... the DNA would match Influenza strains. If they had a brand new, yet unseen DNA related to the CORONAVIRUS pathogen...then DING it would have been discovered as a novel coronavirus or 'COVID ..18' amongst the population.
What do you think all those people that park in a hospital staff car park do? They are not all pretending to be JD and Turk. What do you think all the hundreds of thousands of virologists, biologists, lab technicians do to pay the mortgage? They work in a hospital establishing why you and all the people you coughed on feel 'sicky poops'.
All those hospitals around the world, all of the millions of PCR's done a year, all of the virologists and lab technicians in all of the labs.... discovering this secret novel coronavirus in 2018, just hit career jackpot and will write papers and become leaders in their field..... "Ha Ha Frank Peterson, you may have had a 3% average on me in our 6 years of Virology school but look at me nowwwwww... I have the POWWWEEERRRRRR..."
Or they may just keep it under their Quaker Oats man looking illuminati hats..... because they want Joe Biden to take your guns....
Wow the intellect and mysteries that get solved here nowadays! It's like a box set of Columbo!
