  My conclusion on the matter

  after being brought up a jw, going to mts, bethel, pioneer school multiple times, serving in foreign assignments and having been an elder for decades my conclusion is that i am now pima, physically in mentally agnostic.. agnostic means you think it can’t be proven either way creation or evolution.

  i do tend to lean towards evolution but creation at the very start because you can’t get life from dead matter.

  but i’m open to the possibility of chance theory at the origin of it all.

  You have made many assumptions and stated them as fact. I think you have done the bravest and most scary part, daring to question. But now comes the hard part…. if you want answers, if truth matters, you have a lot of exciting reading ahead of you.

  If I may pick one point you made, that life can’t be made from dead matter. This is simply incorrect in fact we have made synthesised life from scratch even the dna. Humans have made living things not found in nature.

  i was never a jw, but came across a few in my travels.

  one jw businessman i dealt with seemed to be honest, trustworthy and reputable 👍👌.

  another i knew was the kind of bloke who, if he told me that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, i'd watch sunrise and sunset just to make sure.

  One elder/PO still owes me £1000 for work done in 1998……

  I found they were no different to normal people. Many are good and honest, many are self employed and openly don’t pay their taxes as they should, almost an entitled - we are JW’s and this world is coming to an end …point of view. In reality it is criminal and immoral.

  admittedly it 90% crap over there but still they are up to 80k in subscribers.

  over here it's the same half dozen or so that posts something, including myself.

  Right wing US politics were promoted, left wing and liberal ideology mocked. The majority of daily posts were from less than 5 people, some posting new topics many times a day, all promoting their political agenda and choosing topics to evoke unpleasant interaction. JW as a topic became diluted. It was a bad look for visitors and new people would likely have been confused as to the purpose of this forum.

  Inevitably many people left because not all people see the world in the same way,

  It’s a shame, this used to be a very important step in fading. EXJW Reddit is doing a great job for the next generation of JW’s that want to leave.

  I appreciate what Simon has done here, life changing for me. Shame.

  i am not sure how you all feel as we all left at different times for different reasons.... but this new bible seems to have put some final nails into a coffin that was once my jw life.

  the religion is so far and so different to the religion i grew up in that it has become something i feel no affiliation with anymore, no bond, no shared ideas or even sentimental views.

  different teachings on when the end is coming.
