What happened immediately after your Judicial Committee was over?

whenever i went to my judicial committee (over 3 years ago), the elders opened with a prayer for jehbooboo's guidance.

then they followed up with their loyalty question, "do you believe in the faithful and discreet slave?".

of course i answered "no", and shortly thereafter i handed over my disassociation letter.

For me, there were 3 elders on it. I had known them all for quite some time. Elder one was the COBE. He was very business like and shook my hand. Elder 2 is a hot headed Irishman who had to catch himself more than once during the proceedings......trying not to get angry at me. Elder 3 is a brand new elder and one of my former good friends. We used to cycle and play basketball together. Elder one, as I said kept it business like. Elder 2 stared away at the wall to keep from engaging me in argument. Elder 3.....during the proceeding asked me if had read the society's publications (Oct & Nov 2011 mags) regarding the 607 BC issue. I smiled politely and explained that those magazines, when the information provided within is cross referenced, raise more questions than they answer. In fact, the final 24 pages of my 607BC research are completely dedicated to those magazines. I offered to ask him some of the questions those magazines raised. He looked like he had seen a ghost. From that point on......he would not make eye contact with me.

After they announced that I would be DFd for apostasy.......I went and met mythreesons and a few others for a beer! Cheers!

Anyone here been Dfd for 'apostacy'?

just wanna know.

i'm doing the fade but i reckon my big mouth could get me dfd.

i know plenty who've been dfd for fornication/adultery, but never met one dfd for speaking the truth.

They have, they do and they will. I was DFd for apostasy last year. I spent almost 3 years researching the organization.....its history.....607BC.....1919 etc. I did so because my wife asked me to (I had doubts and she was sure that after researching.....I would come to the conclusion that this WAS God's one and only organization after all). When I tried to show her what I had discovered she flipped a switch and I became the enemy. She and her father turned me in to the elders. Not one of them (wife, FIL, elders) ever attempted to answer the litany of questions I had.

Is it the GB's plan to NOT explain the nu FDS lite?

perhaps i am overthinking this.......but i may have come to the conclusion that the gb's refusal to address and explain in detail all of the changes mentioned at the 2012 annual meeting is in and of itself.....their final explanation.

from what i have gathered by speaking discreetly with those that are still "in" but on the fringe.......the information given at the 2012 meeting meant practically nothing to most jws.

in fact.....most are still completely unaware of the changes.

Perhaps I am overthinking this.......but I may have come to the conclusion that the GB's refusal to address and explain IN DETAIL all of the changes mentioned at the 2012 Annual Meeting is in and of itself.....their final explanation. From what I have gathered by speaking discreetly with those that are still "in" but on the fringe.......the information given at the 2012 meeting meant practically NOTHING to most JWs. In fact.....most are still completely unaware of the changes. Most witnesses still believe that the FDS has been around since 33CE and that the FDS still refers to the "anointed".....though the "anointed" are represented by the members of the governing body. Most have no idea that the "slave" being appointed "over all his belongings" is still a future event.

And I think that is just the way the GB wants it. I think they may continue to leave it unexplained in print.....and slowly but surely over the coming years......the new "belief" will simply trickle down through word of mouth. District Overseers and Circuit Overseers will mention portions of it from the stage and in personal conversation.....elders will confirm......and Sister Faithful will simply hear about it through the grapevine. After several years it will be accepted by JWs that this is the new understanding. No one will question it......and several years after THAT.....it will be a blur just like everything else is in their history. Individual JWs won't remember the exact article that explained the change (because it never existed).....but they won't care. Their memories will fade and eventually.....like all other understandings......they will simply believe it because that is what is now taught. They will assume that surely an article was written many years ago.......giving the explanation of why such changes were necessary, but they aren't going to look it up because it is too much work. Any that do look it up will of course find nothing. And those that are concerned about that will either be told to "continue waiting on Jehovah" or they will be told "does it have to be in print in order for you to believe it? Are you saying that hearing it from the mouth of Jehovah's channel of communication isn't good enough?" The word of mouth explanation will eventually become so entrenched that the GB will be able to write entire articles about it......without EVER having to address its origin.

If they stall long enough......while at the same time.....continuing to mention the new belief structure......the sheeple will accept it and forget about their one time desire to understand WHY it changed.

Can your child be too young to learn TTATT? Where would you start?

that is my dilema.

my child is wonderful, funny, smart, talented, cute, kind, and a social butterfly.

i want to see her happy.

I would suggest the same as the folks before me. Find them good, honest "worldly" friends. That way they can see first hand that in most cases.....not only are "worldly" people not bad.....they are actually nicer than the "friends" they have at the kingdom hall.

Make sure they are NOT home schooled. As they see their friends at school celebrating their birthdays, getting into the Christmas spirit, having a blast playing sports etc etc........they will see that these things aren't bad at all.

My children are 5 1/2 and 3 1/2. My soon to be ex wife is constantly barraging them with how bad birthdays and Christmas and magic etc are. When the kids are with her.....they lead a regimented life.....dominated by meeting attendance and service. When they are with me.......I give them choices. Yes.....I believe that 5 and 3 year olds should be given choices. With me......I tell them "it is up to you". For instance.....my oldest wants to have a birthday party. 3 months ago she was completely indoctrinated. But kids have brains and curiosity. She asked me if I celebrate mine. I told her yes. She proceeded to tell me that Jehovah doesn't like that. I used basic reasoning with her. "Jehovah isn't happy I was born?" I asked. "I sure am happy YOU were born." She responded by saying "but birthdays put too much importance on one person (yes a 5 year old said this) and that is selfish". I said "but what about so and so's wedding you just went to. That day was all about them wasn't it?" She literally thought about it for a minute and said......."yeah.......so there's nothing wrong with birthdays?". I said "I don't think so". She promptly asked me if I would have a birthday party for her when she turns 6.

Even at such a young age......they are able to use basic reasoning. Combine that with her going to school now and she can see how normal kids are OUTSIDE of the kingdom hall. It is a desire for ALL kids to want to be normal. If you can catch them early......I think that TRUE love (not conditional love) and thinking skills will win out over forced indoctrination and fear.

Still Waiting For the Governing Body To Explain Their New Light

regarding the governing bodys new light relative to matthew 24:45-47, anointedjw.org recently said the following:.

this new light certainly poses a problem for the governing body.

perhaps this is another reason why they have not yet published a sober and scriptural xplanation of this new light.

There is a part of me that wonders how much of their own bullshit they believe. I honestly wonder if they came up with the new light......and then said "let's go ahead and make the announcement.......the holy spirit will direct the explanation later".

so, a good friend of mine, a pentecostal christian, invited me to go to a retreat with her church.

we're the same age-19 years.

we were friends before i became a witness and she was always patient and caring with me especially throughout my arrogant spell as a witness.

Don't go to any church that has already existing "beliefs" that you must "adopt" in order to be "approved" by God. Don't ever let anyone think for you
