  As I keep saying, it's NOT JUST CHINA. It's the emerging BRICS Alliance. They will overcome US hegemony, together with other nations friendly to their aims.

  I was reading yesterday about the Customs Union that Russia is putting together across the 'stan nations - full of natural resources and populations yearning for a better life. Meanwhile, the US obsesses with sanctions........ it's just stupid.

  For those of you who aren't aware of how absurd this becomes - there is a US gov site that all contractors must go thru and certify ( sams.gov)

  If you sell toilet paper to the Feds, you must file page after page of nonsense certifying that you didn't get it from Sudan - or that you don't sell secrets to Iran or buy certain bricks from China. Many businesses pay a firm or lawyer to do these lengthy forms. Some refuse to do business and forgo the revenue.

  Today the Pentagon is complaining that they need Russian heavy lift rockets but can't get them by court order.

  the news reports from a number of sources were uniform in praising the man, both professionally and for his human qualities.. and, the obituaries all mentioned his partner:.

  Why would any rational, compassionate personal accept what that text says?

  My whole attitude about gays changed after I actually met and worked with some of them. One of the best workers I know in the industry in which I work is gay. He pays a mortgage. He pays taxes. He is conscientious. He isn't obnoxious about it, it's his private business.

  I have no interest in gay sex. That said, what's the big deal? Why is it so important to condemn it? Why should anyone care?

  Years ago, I became aware of some lesbian couples who loyally took care of each in old age and chronic, dependent illness over years.

  I can't imagine a greater or more practical demonstration of goodness or true fidelity than that. Am I supposed to condemn them because they rub their wrinkly bodies together and don't make babies - which old straight couples don't do either?

  What is the point? Why is this so evil? What practical difference does it make?

  Murder and theft mean something and society needs to surpress that kind of stuff - but being gay doesn't harm or threaten me in the least.

  It is common to look down on people who object to Endless Conflict and label as them as malcontents or 'conspiracy theorists'. I would prefer to draw attention to the sociopaths who continue to advocate war and thereby shill for oligarchs.

  A multipolar world can't come soon enough for me.

  You are correct that China is (and will be ) a very different superpower. However, I think you may be making a defect out of very attractive virtue here.

  The American people are fed up with useless costly wars and approval of Congress in particular is at the lowest level ever. Meanwhile, other nations are tired of being told what to do by an arrogant empire. The near rape of an Indian diplomat by police was astonishing. Brazil continues to be angry about the NSA. And Russia is drawing closer to China - despite the predictions of so-called experts.

  The net result of all this is that more and more nations will reject US hegemony and accept the help of a nation that minds its own business. In addition, as the Yuan replaces the Dollar as the reserve currency, the US will NOT be able to fund its adventures with green pieces of paper that are IOU's. The days of the US being the world's policeman are coming to an end for multiple reasons.

  Shallow? It's good you are familiar with that word, DJS.

  The story about China's potential ascension has now appeared on NBC, the Financial Times and Business Insider. It's officially mainstream.

  And speaking of shallow, it isn't just China, it's the ascension of the BRICS ALLIANCE.

  And if you bother to do a "360" on Google, you'll find out that much of your objection ignores present developments - as with Russia and China doing joint military drills or China and India talking peace and economic ties or Brazil rejecting US jets because they're angry about US spying.

  And Israel? The BDS movement is rolling right along, complete with Kerry's comment about apartheid. The US can't even get Israel to go along with condemnation of Crimea as ties are fraying.

  If you care to be specific , I've got reams of info and links to sites in defense.

  As with this latest development relative to my previous posts on this topic, I'd say the trend is my friend.

  No need to take my word for it, though...... much more is coming.

  The BRICS Alliance is nearly equal to the US by older conservative measures. Throw in Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Equador, Cuba and Bolivia and US hegemony is in sunset mode.

  China's military spending is undercounted by a huge amount - and their military advances are alarming the Pentagon. They came up with the DF-21 carrier killer missile and a new hypersonic weapon that the US hasn't developed yet.

  China is spending billions across the 'Stan countries ( where 40% of the world's population is) to build a new Silk Road for massive trade movement. They already passed the US this past year in worldwide trade.

  China holds 1.3 trillion dollars in reserves. While foolish liberal bloggers worry about the Koch brothers (billionaires) they apparently ignore the fact that China can easily buy all the US politicians they want ( like Senator Harry Reid?).

  Today, it was announced that US growth has hit 0.1%. Basically stalled. The BRICs Alliance may have a near monopoly on growth internationally.

  China builds and grows while the US tries to start wars - that even Europe doesn't really care about.

  Get ready for inflation in commodities (oil, food, etc.) as the US loses currency reserve status and can't flood the world with green paper IOU's anymore. OTOH, the Chinese will probably support higher farmland prices here as the dollars come back.
