  just come home from a weight loss class early.

  it's 6 months since i da'd and two and a half years since i've been to a meeting.

  there was a witness there (unless she has left, i wouldn't know) we made eye contact!

  Thank you all. I do agree with some of your thoughts Magnum for those hardcore witnesses but if it was me (not hardcore) and I was the witness that had ignored someone and had caused them to get upset, I would have felt terrible. I'm hoping they will go home feeling bad and realising what a cruel thing shunning is! The other positive is my Weight Class leader knows the situation and saw first hand the reaction. She is disgusted by it all and hopefully warns others to stay away from JW's.

  Just come home from a weight loss class early. It's 6 months since I DA'd and two and a half years since I've been to a meeting. There was a witness there (unless she has left, I wouldn't know) we made eye contact! I thought I was stronger but obviously not - I started shaking uncontrollably - I feel like such an idiot because I know I have done nothing wrong. I was hoping she wouldn't stay for the chat part of the class but she sat in front of me!! I had to get up and walk out whilst bawling my eyes out. Mind you there was only about 9 of us sat down, I think it was just too close for comfort. How does everyone else cope when they see witnesses?

  What woke you up?

  in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

  so what woke me up?

  an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

  i've finally got round to joining the site (after over 2 years lurking!

  i was born into jws, pioneered for 10 years (met my husband at pioneer school).

  had health issues that saw me catapulted away from 'the centre of the cong' and wow what a different place that was!

  Haha, Stan livedeath. I beat you on the car reg -whilst pioneering in the late 80's I had a mini kgb 666k. Weirdly was never counselled on that one!
