  well ok, "shunned" is really sister number 2, but peachypoof is sister number one, and the second of my sister to join the board.. she is about 18 months younger than me, and today joined us on the board.. i know when i was talking to her online, i was kinda choked up, that she was signing up with us here.

  these are moments that this brother, the real brother of these two sisters of mine will never forget!.

  Amazing Survived Major Heart Attack

  i just spoke on the phone to amazing (jim whitney) who is in intensive care in a chicago hospital.

  on monday he had a major heart attack, had a stint put in an artery to unblock things and may have bypass surgery.

  he's comfortable enough right now, but of course will have to make some big lifestyle changes.

  Thanks for the reply! Sounds like the wedding was very nice - overlooking the Lions Bridge, the Intercoastal Waterway & Anastasia Island. One of my favorite places to hit the beach, when I was growing up. You can spot dolphins sometimes in that bay.

  You didn't say in which direction your "70 miles from Orlando" is, but if it's North, you may be close to Interlachen, where I grew up. Putnam County, the armpit of Northeast Florida Anyway, nice talking with you. I hope my family lets this whole Dateline thing sink in. My folks are pretty indoctrinated - though I have hopes for the rest of my brothers & sisters.

  I've been around - doing more reading than posting, though. I took a required English class this past Spring semester - Expository Writing. Scored an A-!

  I'll try to post more - since the Dateline show, my fingers have burning up the keyboard!

  i mean in addition to being a pedophile paradise of course.. if you tell a country (mexico) that you are a cultural organization, don't use the bible, or sing, or pray, and you do it for money, then what are you?

  i mean you hate all cultures of "the world" so you lied about being a cultural organization, you aren't a religion or you wouldn't have denied your god, your bible, and your prayers.

  i guess when you consider the deals made in bulgaria, and the rapid hiding of resources and then campaigning to change the votes in france you could qualify as a political organization.

  i was recently disfellowshipped, i guess about 9 months ago, but i always figured that i would get reinstated.

  fortunately, i decided that since i wasn't an active witness i could go ahead and read all that naughty apostate literature that we weren't allowed to read before.

  well, i'm glad that i did, because now my eyes are open.

  Welcome to the board, StinkyPantz!

  I understand your desire to want your family to "see the light", but the best way to do this is to lead by example. My parents converted to the JW's from Catholicism in the mid-1950's. They are pretty hardcore, and I was raised a JW by them. You cannot beat them over the head with the stuff you've discovered - they are hardwired to believe that any info that doesn't come from Brooklyn is "apostate" in nature, and they will just shut down. Live your life, show them how happy you are, how free you feel - these are the best ways to convince them (or at least get them thinking) that maybe the JW's DON'T have all the answers.
