Scriptural rebuttal to disfellowshiping
by JG ini was thinking that since most of you have experianced shunning due to disfelowshiping or disassociation, that you might have some ideas adn scriptures to show how df and da shunning is unscriptural.
the elders were gracious enough to provide my wife with a packet to show how df'ng is scriptural and gag loving.. sean.

Hi SS,
I dont know if you are a scholarly like meself. But it might have been more
beneficial to post your comment on the thread itself. Becuase most scholarlies
tend to focus attention on threads with dissertations. I welcome your critique nonetheless.
Dissertations should have beneficial comments.

Shunning Rules Changed Again
by Amazing insometime ago the faq at jw-media stated that if one "simply ceases to be involved, they are not shunned.
" ... now, the wording has changed to allow a broader position, one that could include even many more former jws, and "maybe" become the basis whereby they could argue that they are not apostate: do you shun former members?
those who simply leave the faith are not shunned.

talk about mixed signals..from
http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/1988/4/15/article_01.htm
For example, despite help from Christian elders, he may unrepentantly violate God's laws. Or he may reject the faith by teaching false doctrine or by disassociating himself from the congregation. Then what should be done? Such things occurred even while the apostles were alive; hence, let us see what they wrote about this.
By also avoiding persons who have deliberately disassociated themselves, Christians are protected from possible critical, unappreciative, or even apostate views.
The situation is different if the disfellowshipped or disassociated one is a relative living outside the immediate family circle and home. It might be possible to have almost no contact at all with the relative. Even if there were some family matters requiring contact, this certainly would be kept to a minimum, in line with the divine principle: "Quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person [or guilty of another gross sin], . . . not even eating with such a man."

Room Bids at Bethel
by Black Man inany bethelites remember the rite-of-passage for bethelites, bidding on rooms.
for new-boys that basically translated into moving from one 5 x 5 room to the next (unless you started pioneering at the age of 9).
for senior bethelite members, you're basically lickin' your chops because all those years of seniority can be used to obtain a room with a ...............bathroom.
