  What proof do we have? How did we pass the inspection in 1919?

  with the new light, the governing body apparently passed the master's inspection due to our focus on preaching the kingdom at that time.

  we were the only ones doing this according to the july wt re all those changes.. but, were we really doing this in 1918?

  i thought it was only the colporteurs.

  Forgive my ignorance, but! Is there anywhere in the Bible where it says Jesus would be inspecting relgious orgnizatons at any given point in time?

  since i've been a child my mother has studied on and off with jw's ( i'm now 34) so i've been around it most of my life, i studied on and off myself for around 10 years.

  Laverite, that's my mom down to a T. I think I'll have my work cut out trying to make my mom see what the watchtower truely is. But on a happy note I've told all my family and friends about this site, JWFacts and I've told them they can stop the JW'S calling round by simply asking to be put on a do not call list

  Thank you for all the replies it's very kind of you all. Also, thanks again to everyone on the site for all the great infomation. I've been reading here for a while and it's thanks to this site & JWfacts that I never became a JW. Someone asked if my mom and I were ever baptized, no we never took the plung. I did come very close though. My mom hasn't attended meeting for a while no, she hasn't even had a study for a long time. But, and there is a but, She wont hear a bad word said about the JW's. I keep trying to get her to look on JWFacts but she wont. She has a friend ho's a long time JW, they have tea together once a week, and anything I bring up that's negative of the watchtower my mom asks a friend and accepts any answer she is given.

  I think I'm going to lay off trying to convince my mom that this relgion really is just a cult for a while. I figure that the elder may talk with my moms friend to ask if I'm filling my moms head with ideas, so I won't give them any amunision. I'll just go silent about the watchtoer for a month or 2, and in the meantime I'll try and build my case against them, so I'm ready with the facts for my mom once I've finished with my silent faze. It's really difficult ith my mom because even though she's never been baptized and doesn't attend the meetings, she does act like a witness and boldly states that she believes everything they teach. The truth is my mom hasn't got a clue about their real teachings. She doesn't know that they teach Jesus is only the mediator for the gb for example. I could go on, but I'll leave it there for no.

  I'll keep this short. Since I've been a child my mother has studied on and off with JW's ( I'm now 34) So I've been around it most of my life, I studied on and off myself for around 10 years. Thank's to this site and JwFacts I'll never study or step foot inside a kingdom hall again. Anyway I said I'd keep this short so here goes.

  I stopped attending meetings and having my "Bible studies" earlier this year, and for a while the elder I was studying with left me to it, but just recently he's been calling round on a regular basis, as luck would have it I've never been in when he's called round. He has, however left a number of magazines here with my mother. Just some info - I moved back home last year after a bad breakup. Anyway.. I became a little fed up with the constant messages left for me, by the elder, with my mother, I also got fed up of the constant streams of magazines left for me. So today I emailed said elder. This is my email: ( I'll call the elder John)

  John it's chris smith, this is my new email address. John I felt I needed to mail you just to avoid any confusion as regards the possibility of myself attending any meetings in the future. John I'd like to be placed on a do not call list please, I know this is my moms house and I can't stop witnesses knocking on my moms door. But I don't want anyone calling round to see me to arrange studies or to ask me to attend any meetings, conventions or any other watchtower related gathering, and I don't want anyone placing literature at my moms house for me, nor do I want anyone offering me literature on the streets. I'll not go into detail as to my reasons why, but I will say I'd like my wishes respected. So once again John could you place me on the do not call list please.

  John I'd like to thank you for everything and I wish you all the very best, You're always welcome at my house should you ever want to come round, just not on watchtower business. I want no further association with that organisation. Thanks again John.
