do not call list.
an ex-jw in the uk has come up with a brainwave!!.
he canvassed his local area and came up with a signed list of several thousand householders who did not wish to be called on again by jehovahs witnesses.. this list was then handed to the local congregations and the london bethel who were then obliged to list all those households as do not calls.. has anyone else tried this?

It could be sent certified mail in the US, but keeping a copy should be enough.
They will comply. The cost of not complying is too high.

I have this letter in Adobe Acrobat format, so that it can be easily printed / distributed.
If anyone wants a copy to put on their web site, or to distribute to others, email me at [email protected].
This one simple document could be the beginning of the end for JW's. Lets get it into as many hands as possible.
Peace,
Mike Pence

Dear Sir or Madam,
This letter is a request to cease and desist any attempts to contact me by telephone or personal visit at my place of residence by anyone representing Jehovah’s Witnesses.
I understand that applicable entitles me to make such a request, and to treat disregard for this request as an act of trespass. Such disregard for this notice will be met with appropriate civil and criminal action. This includes any attempts to contact me at my place of residence in the future under the guise of discovering whether or not I am still the occupant of this residence. You will be contacted in writing should I decide that any future contact would be appropriate.
I further request that you contact the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in my area to insure that they will comply with this matter.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. My address is provided below.

Ugghh...why did you have to use an MSN community site? Microsoft is the WTS of software...
Let's keep this simple. How about a site that provides a simple form letter that can be printed and filled out and mailed to Bethel to have people added to the DNC list? Let New York figure out which congregation has to be notified.
Something like (for the US):
To whome it may concern,
I __________________ hereby request, in accordance with United States Law, that no one associated with Jehovah's Witnesses call on my place of residence, ____________________________________ without prior written permission. Any violation of my wishes will be construed as trespassing and subject to criminal and civil action.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Signed
That, with a mail to address in Brooklyn, should work.
Mike Pence
i just spoke to bryce at bethel information line (hopefully this was not just nytelecom1 himself).. this is what bethel has done:.
1. donated batteries and flashlights.
2. power equipment to cut through concrete.
I unabashedly applaud whatever Bethel is doing and encourage them to do more.
let's use this thread to see who really is putting their money where their mouth is.. list here what actions you have taken, or are planning to take, to help those in need in new york and washington d.c. this could be in the form of money, blood, volunteering, etc.
this is not about tooting one's own horn, it is about showing that the ex-jw community cares.
also indicate in your message if you are ex-jw or current jw.. i will start:.
Again, my intent was to be enouraging, to act as a group to see how much we can throw in to help out.

I will start:
Mike Pence (ex-JW) and his family have given $20 to the Red Cross. We plan to give more in the coming days.
i am currently enjoying cruising around on the internet in chat rooms.. i'm enjoying posting that the jw who could have sent in people and organized volunteers have locked their doors and tightened their security.. perhaps instead of bitching and moaning on this board, we should use our time letting total strangers know jus how unchristian the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses are.. well?
get started.
there's a ton of forums out there, and you can post a link to this very site.
LDH, I certainly understand your feelings, and I encourage you to do whatever your conscience tells you will help the most people.
The lack of love that JW's show is not news to most people. Everyone seems to know someone who became a JW, then shut themselves off from their previous friends and their families.
If we all stand up for, and act out of, love, then any tyrannical thought system cannot stand for long.

I must respectfully disagree.
We are all mad at the Watchtower cult, and what it robbed from our lives. This board is a great place to vent that.
However, using this tragedy as a means to promote our agenda is, I feel, a disservice to those who have died. Let's send money to the Red Cross, encourage people to come together. In the face of such love, the WTS looks ridiculous enough.
There will be plenty of time in the months to come to make JW's lack of love apparent.
