  DA or not DA or continue slipping away ?

  for weeks now, i've been trying to put together a disassociation letter - incidently, it's you lot that have put me up to this - and it's nearing completion but i'm feeling nervous about sending it.

  the fast approaching christmas celebration thingymajig is kinda egging me on as i want to blaze christmas lights everywhere and not feel nervous about the possibility of a visit from the po who drops the mags in to me fortnightly (i'm generally 'not in' ... ahem ...).

  i would appreciate your for's and against's - to either convince me to go ahead, or to think again and stay the execution ...

  For me, disassociating was like taking a massive dump after being spiritually constipated my whole life.

  Assemby Halls for Profit?

  i've just come back from the weekend snooze (know to others as the circuit assembly hall in bristol).. the local congregations paid a fortune for the assembly hall to be built.

  it was a major build with purchase of land and construction costing a fortune - and paid for by voluntary donations.

  however our po has informed me that the circuit was charged 4,300 for the weekend assembly!

  Hey Room,

  I grew up meeting at the Buckingham Assembly Hall in the years before the Doylestown, PA congregation had their own building. I spent many an hour there, and many a weekend volunteering there helping out with the grounds, etc. later on.

  wtbs/un so what and who cares?.

  the big story on this board is unquestionable the scandal about jw in bed with un since 1991. but only a few take notice outside this board.

  it really doesnt have the attention of the press in general and never will.

  This story has already helped some people close to me to get out. This story is the borg caught with its pants down, committing spiritual adultery, by their own standards.

  Sure, the gen pop knows that JW's are a crackpot religion. To those who believe though, this provides an invaluable tool: a clear, simple example of them compromising their own principals.

  Tempest in a teapot? Sure, but it is OUR teapot. :)

  This is way politically incorrect to say, but it needs to be said.

  Poor minorities in this country, especially Latinos, are breeding like bunnies. Typically, Mexican girls have had a few children before they are old enough to drink!

  Now, I support anybody's right to have sex and kids...but what is the USA going to look like in 30 years? It is a real problem. Here in Arizona, already, half the high school population is Mexican, and half of them have dropped out. That's 25%, or 1 out of 4, for those of you who have already dropped out.

  I think we should start giving cash incentives for implanted birth control or tubal ligation.
