  Thanks Hawk,

  I would love to share the interview with everyone, and maybe eventually I will. But, I did not explicitly request permission to distribute audio of the interview over the net from J. R. Brown, only permission to "use its contents for publication."

  Ethically, it just does not feel right to go posting it to the net. I am sure that I am covered legally, but I am bound to a journalistic code of ethics, as well as my own personal values.

  I have sent it to a few close friends. I did this to gather feedback and to assist in writing the article. I don't see how that is any different from inviting friends over to my house to listen to a recorded conversation for the same purpose, but I cannot spread it any further at this point for the aforementioned reasons.

  Plus, this could jeopardize any future interview prospects with Watchtower officials, which I do not want to do.

  I would also like to ask those who have heard it to refrain from discussing it on public internet forums like this one.

  He conducted himself in a cordial manner. Considering the questions I was posing, I thought he behaved like a gentleman.

  I don't agree with his views. I think he is as brainwashed as any of us were. But, let's not be childish and paint people as monsters. We were there once too.

  Maybe I am not the one who needs to learn.

  i have added more information about jehovah's witnesses and sexual abuse to my salon blog, here: http://blogs.salon.com/0001138/.

  thanks to everyone's efforts yesterday, my blog is now in the top 20 at salon.

  the people associated with salon are the movers and shakers of the media, including writers of op-ed pieces for the ny times, etc.
