I sent this to a Muslim friend who is unsure of her faith. She said it made her cry.

Nessrriinn's Story
by jwfacts inthis is a beautiful account by nessrriin of her growing up and leaving the muslim faith.
the parrallels with leaving the watchtower faith is quite remarkable, even the similarity of terminology such as; the truth, conventions, guilt, study more, apostate, "there is no questioning allah".. there have been several accounts lately of people torn by the question "what if the watchtower is correct"?
hopefully this video will help show that your religious belief is due to your religious upbringing, not that it really could be "the truth.".

by dontplaceliterature inmy wife and i just visited some friends over the weekend from another congregation.
these two are both full time pioneers, and also participate in various construction projects around the country.
the husband just got back from a 3 week trip to walkill, new york to help with construction on a new residence building at 'the farm' (does anyone call it that anymore?)..

Why I Shouldn't Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth
by XJW4EVR inwhen i was a jw, the key issue that caused me to doubt the wt was the trinity.
the wtb&ts's blatent misquotations and misrepresentations of religious scholarship to fit their anti-trinitarian presuppositions are horrid and inexcusable.
that issue, however, was not the issue that caused me to become a christian.

You shouldn't believe in the resurrection because it is just another Greek influenced myth just like the virgin birth of jesus and the divinity of jesus. Figure it out Christians claim to use the Old Testament basis for their belief, but there is no support for the belief in a virgin birth (supposed to be a maiden) or evidence of the deity of Jesus in the OT. Look to the Jews for answers about the OT they read Hebrew better.
2nd Point...that is really impressive that Jesus foretold the fall of Jerusalem in 70CE when the first manuscripts were from 300 AD. I wrote a book in 1999 about 2 planes flying into the world trade center on 9/11/01. Unfortunately the first manuscript they found was from 2011.

Hebrew scholars are actively correcting "mistakes" in the Bible!
by wearewatchingyouman injerusalem a dull-looking chart projected on the wall of a university office in jerusalem displayed a revelation that would startle many readers of the old testament: the sacred text that people revered in the past was not the same one we study today.. an ancient version of one book has an extra phrase.
another appears to have been revised to retroactively insert a prophecy after the events happened.. scholars in this out-of-the-way corner of the hebrew university campus have been quietly at work for 53 years on one of the most ambitious projects attempted in biblical studies publishing the authoritative edition of the old testament, also known as the hebrew bible, and tracking every single evolution of the text over centuries and millennia.. and it has evolved, despite deeply held beliefs to the contrary.. for many jews and christians, religion dictates that the words of the bible in the original hebrew are divine, unaltered and unalterable.. for orthodox jews, the accuracy is considered so inviolable that if a synagogue's torah scroll is found to have a minute error in a single letter, the entire scroll is unusable.. but the ongoing work of the academic detectives of the bible project, as their undertaking is known, shows that this text at the root of judaism, christianity and islam was somewhat fluid for long periods of its history, and that its transmission through the ages was messier and more human than most of us imagine.

"The Book of Jeremiah is now one-seventh longer than the one that appears in some of the 2,000-year-old manuscripts known as the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Some verses, including ones containing a prophecy about the seizure and return of Temple implements by Babylonian soldiers, appear to have been added after the events happened."
How about that quote LOL

The (deafening) Sound of Silence
by Terry inhere are a few tips from a casino expert about slot machines:.
if someone hits a big payout at a machine that you just left, don't think that you "missed" a payout.
you would not have gotten that payout if you had been playing because you wouldn't have pulled the slot machine at the exact fraction of a second that the other person did.. .

Watchtower Rise of the Service Department
by Marvin Shilmer inwatchtower rise of the service department.
today i added a new article to my blog addressing the point at which watchtowers service department started to become the organizations muscle.
pastoral work was dumped in favor of, you guessed it, a business model.

Nebuchadnezzar's dream image - no room for China?
by SweetBabyCheezits ina guy who used to be a jw buddy recently gave me hope that he's waking up to the wt fallacy.
he's concerned about the fact that china is becoming the next superpower, which creates issues for the statue in daniel ch.
2.. based on current jw light, there's no room for a single dominant world power after the "politically fragmented" landscape appears (the feet of mixed clay/iron).

When you say china is not a world power you have to remember that the super powers in the bible were not that huge......comparatively china has more power than all but Rome and the US....the bible never talked about the Mongol World Power (largest continuous land empire). Or even the Sumerians who were a world power before all the ones listed by the WTS. How can you have all the 6 world powers take place over 1000 or less years and have one world power that takes power in the 1600s 1100 years after Rome fell.

Rape can be fornication myth in the 1990s?
by Chemical Emotions inalthough it was wrong for the wtbts to claim this i the '60s, '70s, and '80s, i'm pretty sure (correct me if i'm wrong) that most "experts" believed it too.
idk.. but did most people believe, especially experts -in the 1990s- that if you don't scream or fight when threatend with rape, you have committed fornication?
the wts did.

I must have been to young to notice this pile of shit. I bet you if some of the GB were raped they would sing a different tune. Maybe ole' Ruthford was when they threw him in prision in 1917? This stuff makes me so mad.
