Seeker... ugh. I don't think I'd like that.
I know it's a fashion/society thing, that in other societies it's perfectly acceptable, but I just don't think I could get used to it.
well, since we already have the "taboo" thread of shaving/trimming... down there, why not have the shaved legs thread?.
i ask this, because i'm not sure if i should shave mine or not.
i have naturally hairy legs/lower body, and it would take regular shaving to make the itching stop!

Okay, ladonna, since you say so!
It was just a spur of the moment thing...

So do any guys here shave 'em too? How do you girls like 'em? Any preference?
full of the latest news on jehovah's witnesses' history, doctrine and practice.
i especially liked the interviews with ex-jw's.
this is not a pro-jw apologetics site by the way.
I surfed your site, and I must admit, the layout is excellent. Who designed your webpage?
(The information is, of course, excellent as well! )
does it ever surprise you when you see people that you grew up with as a jw and they're still witnesses?
i went to school with a lot of those jw kids my age and i can't believe that they continue to be jws when they are free of their parents.. i want to say," you're an adult with a high school education or a ged!
haven't you figured the scam out?!".
Kenneson, although the mental picture you depicted of JW's gleefully laughing as people dying all around them scream for help and buildings crumble around them was extremely morbid, I had to chuckle. The image is so insane it's ridiculous. It's disgusting.
In fact, if people do survive any kind of Armageddon, and they're laughing and hugging, I think I'd rather kill myself than stay with those maniacs.
"Oh gee, God killed my son. Guess he wasn't so good a JW after all! Weeeee!"
God no.

I think it's harder for someone that grew up as a JW (like myself) to get out than a person who just decided to join as an adult. All this information was given to you as a child, and, trusting your parents, believed them naively as the ultimate truth.
However, by joining as an adult, you have less concern of the aftermath if and when you leave.
You know what my JW uncle once told me? "It's harder for someone who grew up in the "truth" than someone who got it as an adult." That's exactly what he said. And I agree. Your parents, friends etc. are all JW. If you're going to leave, it's going to be hell for a while (speaking from personal experience...) That's why my brother and cousin aren't out yet... they're scared of the consequences. More specifically, they're scared of their parents.

or this could be titled: "ridicule this!
" that's because the ridiculer doesn't just ridicule old men in brooklyn, or the bible, or the religion of their family; rather those so inclined ridicule reality itself.
the beauty of the truth, though, is that it is irrepressible, so much so that even some of the sons of this system can, by the power of reason, unknowingly arrive at the same conclusion jehovah forsaw centuries before.
Punish us to the proper degree? Seems to me the whole lot of the GB should be killed several times.
When you've recovered, please continue explaining exactly why the WT is God's org.

Interesting points, but you've used a totally different situation for your comparison.
Jesus was never wrong. He never told his disciples to do something he later changed. Not so with the GB. Did he ever make a decision that had negative impacts on the whole disciple community? Did he ever tell them when he believed the "end" would arrive?
That's where it gets interesting. Often, to defend the GB's mistakes on date-emphasizing, we used the disciples as examples of how even apostles can be wrong. But now, you've used Jesus as an example of how JW's faith will be tested. Who are you comparing Jesus to today? The GB? That wouldn't be logical, as the GB claim to be followers of God, disciples if you will. If we believe that they're God's earthly servant, then the whole analogy crumbles.
If the GB community died, yes, I agree, it would be a test of faith for JW's as well. But we're not talking about their faith. We're talking about decisions they took that had a huge negative impact on the JW community.

Well, you've raised an interesting point. If the GB is bloodguilty before God, and we know that they've committed many blunders, then what obligation do we have to stick with them? Why should we believe that the WT is God's organisation?
You have a point about Jesus' disciples fighting often to see who was greater. But this is a lot different. The GB aren't (that I know of) fighting about their position, but rather placing extra-large dollops of emphasis on wrong dates, playing around with people's lives, etc.
Why should God want us to stay with this group in order to spare our lives?

Okay, my grandma and you are on the same lines. But it's not just any JW that made the biggest errors. It's not just anyone that decided of the fates of thousands of JW's... it's the GB! Am I right?
