The merits of a national health system can certainly be argued, but to claim that medical expenses cost a person nothing is obviously incorrect.

Blood Transfusion Permitted
by Nevuela ini just overheard an anointed acquaintance on the phone with a friend of hers who has just had surgery for cervical cancer.
among the snippets of dialogue i heard on my end of the line, these ones stood out:.
"you lost a lot of blood?

"But you're not a witness, you're only studying."
"At this point, you can still take blood, yes."
"You did what you had to do to stay alive and take care of your kids."Translation:
"I need you to not kill yourself off until after you've gotten baptized so that I can take credit for your conversion."

What I could never understand is why aren`t any of those anointed in any K.H. anywhere in the world given any positions of authority in their local congregations ?
If Jesus covenant applied to him and the 144000 only then why aren`t the anointed recognized at the KH.? and given the due respect they should receive ? After all they are future king and priests to rule alongside Jesus.
These are the questions dubs should be asking, but won't out of fear (several different fears, actually).
There is one absolute, universal truth from which this cult has never and will never waiver: The Governing Body will never enact any change that intentionally takes money from their coffers, nor any change that decreases their power over the lives of others. If you agree that the latter part of the last sentence is true, then you'll understand why the GB kicked the "regular anointed" out of the FDS club and why they won't share any of their glory with any of them.

It baffles me why they would even say this
by Tameria2001 inback in 2001, i left the jws rather abruptly.
i had discovered things about the watchtower that really made me quite angry, angry because i had been lied to, and it took me just to darn long to figure it out.
before i had left, my husband and i wrote 3 letters, one to the elders at our congregation, and two to our parents.

"Even if I discover that this is not the true religion, I will never walk away, I have invested too much of my life to ever walk away."
That's simply their, albeit inadvertent, way of admitting they are weak-minded people. They have said they would rather a comfortable lie than an uncomfortable truth. There's not much you can say to people who readily admit they want to be lied to.
This attitude is very prevalent among the dubs.

How do you feel about your JW childhood?
by Emily1987 ini was 5 years old when my mother was baptised.
we went from celebrating xmas to no presents or decorations.
we would still go to my unbelieving aunty's house on xmas day, all of my cousins would be playing with their new toys and would wonder why i didn't have any.

I was a born-in. My experiences are as others have said. Having a Watchtower worshiping elder as a father plainly sucked.
I'm a father and my family's life is far, far different.
I know we all make mistakes, but I would be so ashamed of myself had I forced children to grow up in this religion. I know there are some here who did, and I don't envy the guilt they have to live with every day because of it. I do hope they can find or have found peace with themselves. You really do look at everything differently once you become a parent.

Family is now reaping what they sowed and they don't like it.
by Gemmel ini resigned from the jw's in my 20's over 30 years ago, i was immediately shunned by my entire family and it's remained that way with a few exceptions ever since.
one of those exceptions was being contacted by a cousin a few years back and during that conversation i discovered that my mother had been and still was the prime mover in my complete and continuing shunning.
i then used what contacts i had left to confirm it.

From the title I'm sure you know what my answer was. I've been expecting a call of this type and had decided well before what my answer would be. I must admit I did enjoy throwing back at him one of their favorite sayings.
Out of curiosity, which dub-saying did you use on them?
(I'm the type that has to admit I do get a kick out of using their own BS back on them.)

WATCHTOWER Is Trying To Put Cameras In All of Their Kingdom Halls
by minimus inone of my best friends is in the security business.
he told me the other day of how the watch tower has been in contact with his good friend and business associate.
evidently they are inquiring about putting cameras into every kh so that they can do 24 hour monitoring.

There are actually very valid reasons to have inside cameras running at a church. I would know as I'm in charge of the technology at mine.
In order to not look like a lunatic, it would be best to ask about those reasons rather than jumping off to some ridiculous "so elders can watch the restrooms and so pedos in New York can gawk at the kids" type garbage.

EU Court Ruling Against WT on Data-Protection
by cofty intoday's london times reports on the july ruling of the eu court that forces the organisation country to comply with data protection.. the action originated in finland but the ruling will affect every eu country.
the cult tried unsuccessfully to argue that the notes taken by jws in the door-to-door work were personal and not accessed by the congregation.
the court ruled that they are acting under the auspices of the congregation and therefore they must comply with data-protection laws.. keeping lists of do-not-calls also falls under this ruling.. why does the cult always feel that it is above the law?.

You people trying to get Doubter to leave are out of your mind.
The story is the same here as it is on Topix. Having current dubs posting on these forums is mana from heaven. They are great examples to show people that happen by about what ridiculous contortions and dishonesty a person must resort to in order to support the Watchtower and the Governing Body.
We need as many dubs exposing themselves on these forums as we can get.
Invite your friends from the hall, Doubter. Invite them all. Please.
