Film Documentary about Ex JWs
by Ayernye inmy name is ayernye... sometimes i go by stephan... it used to be stephen mcguire back when i was a witness in the wilmington and groton massachusetts congregations from '83 - '94.
was a pioneer and ministerial servant and was married for two of those years.
with tremendous agony and confusion, i moved far away to discover myself... took years to adjust to my new reality... drugs... drinking... anything to numb my tired brain... but the transformation was eventual and so worth it... of course... i am now my own person... mostly happy, adjusted and living my life to the best i can... .

by Es inlast week my ex husband sent a letter to the elders telling each and every one of them just what he felt about them.
as they were d/f him he figured this was his last chance.
in his letter he stated that as i had scriptural reason for divoce, so did he.

WHY DO PRISONERS DISCOVER "RELIGION"?
by Mary inwhy is it that a number of people who commit the most henious of crimes, suddenly become "born again christians"--usually while sitting on death row?
do they think this somehow absolves them of what they did?
i remember when karla fay tucker was interviewed shortly before her execution (in texas) a few years ago.

MARKING TALKS
by diamondblue1974 inthere used to be a practice where the elders would announce that a talk would be a marking talk and that it would relate to marking someone for some actions they have taken.
the marking would be anonomous and i remember a great deal of confusion being created when a talk was given because the congregation didnt realise who they should or should not talk to....(i know it sounds ridiculous).
what is the scriptual basis for this action?

I switched congregations not long after. But that was the beginning of the end for me, I think. I watched them all scurrying around, whispering around me, etc., and thought, "How pathetic."

They gave a "marking" talk about me about a year or so before I left. A big, finger-pointing talk about not dating people who weren't yet baptised. With all the gossip in the congregation, everyone knew it was about me.

My husband knows I want to be cremated, and my ashes scattered somewhere that he can always visit if he wants to, regardless of whether or not he lives in the same house. Obviously no KH, and we're not church people either. So if there is any service, which I doubt since he's my only family that will likely be alive at that point, it would be at a funeral home. But I think we won't even do that.
