Australian Branch Stats?
by Marvin Shilmer ini'm working on some statistical analysis of child abuse data made public by the royal commission.
while i'm working on this, can someone here do me a favor and look up the peak publisher figures reported by watchtower for the australian branch for each of the years from 2005 through 2014?
my thanks in advance.

Crisis of Conscience
by FreeGirl2006 indo you think that any of the clueless, amnesiacs that appeared before the rc will have a crisis of conscience over the abuse situation?
seriously, with the grilling they received from our new heroes, they would have to be sociopaths not to do some long hard thinking about the lack of empathy and compassion the borg displays as a top down policy towards abuse victims.
i can understand these idiots not having an awakening within the confines of their daily lives since they stay cloistered in their belief system, but the rc forced them into the real world with their questions and one would hope, made them think.

I am of the opinion that if you embarrass a person they will not examine the conversation in their minds.
Where there is no examination there are no new conclusions.
It was not the intent of the RC to embarrass and they went out of their way to give dignity to the Witnesses but I dont think that is how the elders left there feeling about themselves, hence no learining.

Angus Stewart calls the JW religion a captive organization
by oppostate inif you watched the questioning of terrence o'brien by angus stewart at day 7 part 3 on youtube--thanks so much for uploading these videos--you'll see that mr. stewart puts quite clearly to brother o'brien that the jw 0rganization is a "captive organization".. he makes this reference regarding the practice of da/df'ing and shunning, which he mentions is the one thing that makes ex-jw's the most angry.
because insisting on shunning ex-members causes psychological trauma and separates people from their family, friends and their community of support; therefore, they are held captive by the organization if they don't want to lose those most dear to them.. i believe angus stewart is to be commended for seeing clearly what the wt/jw religion is truly like in practice, and it isn't pretty.. the term "captive organization" is usually used in finance to mean a business front, a legal veil that shields the parent company from liability and having to make big insurance payouts.
for example if the australian branch gets sued and loses, the "wt australia" corporation will pay the amount awarded by the judge to the complainant.

Interesting Girl Next Door.
I see that one of Stewarts specialties is international law.

- the first 9 ships to carry prisoners from britain arrived at port jackson.
nine ships carrying 759 convicts and their guards left portsmouth on may 13, 1787, and arrived at what would be the first penal colony in australia, new south wales.

ok, thanks oppostate and Brokeback W for explaining.
I think the point above is extremely likely and lawsuits will start to be filed (and won) over the DF policy.
I say that because I think the climate is finally ripe for public sympathy to side with the individual that has been wronged over the religion and its "rights".
Religion doesnt have much respect with people today and it is becoming less each day.
People are getting very aware of the rights of the individual though.
All bad trends for the Org.

So did Stewart mean the term captive in the business sense or in the sense that they practice shunning? -

But wait! Wifi cant leak it until the dome administrator says so! Oh wait.....that was domain administrator (I like mine better) Here we go again with more of the old secretive handshake stuff...MSs can see this but not this...elders can see all.....blah blah blah.
Seriously, dont they know the BRANCH book has been leaked all over the net and the Elders manual is old ha?
Reading the Societys letters are about the best way I know for a person to experience the emotions of hilarity and nausea simultaneously, assuming one is looking for that experience.
All I get from that letter (after the laughing and gagging) is that they must be having a problem with people not being WOWED by the C.O.s these days.

I have wondered that before too...
I guess they are too mentally elevated up there to concern themselves with that?
Although....didnt angels from "up there" get totally carried away by viewing women down here on earth?
So there is that.
Hmmm

The Australian Royal Commission will NOT do a damn thing to the WT!
by Calebs Airplane inthe rothschild family will not allow the aussies to take any significant action against their religious wing (mormons, jws, adventists, etc.).
the worst outcome for the borg will be a relatively small fine and a deadline to change their rules.
that is all..

How big a deal is the royal commission..? It seems to be not much...
by _Morpheus inmy understanding (very limited and maybe flawed) is that this commission has no teeth.
if thats true why would the org care?
send a few lawyers, go through the motions but in the end.... its a dog parking on a porch.

Thanks Joe Grundy appreciate the clear explanation!
barry2 hours agoEven now survivors of sexual molestation that have had claims payed in the past are being assessed if they require further payments because of this royal commission.
Also excellent point. In some ways hitting them financially probably impacts them more than hitting them with legal rulings because of their persecution complex.
