You can also call the assembly hall and ask for future dates. Make sure you specify the language since the same program rotates in different languages at some Halls. -

Jehovah's Witnesses and Religious Tourism in Africa
by OrphanCrow inabout a month ago, i had started a thread about a video the wts had released of an interview with the minister of tourism for zimbabwe.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/430330002/interview-zimbabwes-minister-tourism-jw-hq.
the video in that thread is no longer online.. the following article highlights the relgious tourism that the jehovah's witnesses have brought to africa.. african govts must prioritise tourism for economic growth: mzembi.
african governments must prioritise tourism development to stimulate economic growth and development on the continent, tourism minister walter mzembi has said.mzembi, who is also united nations world tourism organisation (unwto) chairman of the commission for africa, said tourism had long-term intangible benefits that came with enhancing destinations amid reports that zimbabwes projected 5,1% tourism growth for 2015/16 was ahead of all other economic sectors.. he advocated for the scaling up of religious tourism, telling the audience that jehovahs witnesses who thronged zimbabwe for their first international convention in the country had set a fine example which should be followed by all church organisations.. jehovahs witnesses held their international convention in harare.

I have a friend that just returned from that assembly.
Nice packaged tours, the country makes money and the Org gets the credit without spending a penny.
OC: Did you happen to see the letter from a government authority to the UN concerning the persecution in Malawi already being over by the time JWs were writing letters about it back in 75?
I just looked and couldnt find it but it was what I thought of when I read your post above.
I guess now we are looking at the mining of the wealth (in souls, religiously speaking) by the Org of Africa.

Every time I see those .org flags flying I get a slightly stunned feeling.
As DOC said above "this isnt our grandparents religion anymore"..
So......
what exactly does that men for us?
Has there been a great apostasy take over at headquarters?
If that is the case we are right not to follow.
If that line of reasoning is incorrect, then was the "incorrect" viewpoint the one that existed before this?
The one that established and legally defended the good news, the purple triangles, the ones who died because of no organ transplants, or vaccines?
Were they all the apostasy?
Was this religions foundation apostasy?
Those seem to be the choices. Then or now, which?

Max Larson's archived experience on tv-jw-org includes an AWKWARD statement
by Gilgamesh inthis isn't about anything sordid (or morbid, or reported that knorr did).. it's just that i found an odd-sounding statement in the archived interview that appeared at about 31m20s in the december 2014 monthly tv.jw.org broadcast (or at 4m35s in the stand-alone larson interview also on tv.jw.org).
it seems to reveal an attitude that you'd think would be obsolete about the power of the anointed.
in the attached image, as captioned by tv-jw-org, he said: "every overseer was anointed .

Nice little summary by Barbara Anderson re dear old Geoffrey GB and "presumptuousness"...
by umbertoecho injw governing body claims to be the faithful slave.
did you know how (in sworn testimony during the recent australian royal commission hearing) governing body member geoffrey jackson responded to the question, do you see yourselves as jehovahs spokespeople on earth?.
jackson replied, that, i think, would seem to be quite presumptuous to say that we are the only spokesperson that god is using.. really?

thought the same thing when I read that DataDog.
What does that even mean "has been closely identified with"?
They dont have any problem calling out the wrongdoing of churches. They dont have any problem DFing thousands every year for supposed "wrongs".
So why get so immersed in legalese and mumbo jumbo when they talk about this?
You would think they would be proud to claim what they are supposedly (?) claiming.

What will 1914 (DROPPED) mean for you (EX-JW)
by John Aquila inlet's pretend this might happen.
im not asking what it will mean for the jdubs or for the organization, but what will it mean for you---- if one day you wake up and the watchtower drops the 1914 doctrine.. (you know at some point they have to, but probably not our lifetime).
if you are disfellowshipped or disassociated and have been shunned by your parents, by your children, by you spouse or ex-husband/wife, for years or even less, will you call your relatives and ask/tell them;.

After Death Communications in the JW community
by jack2312 inmy name is jack and i'm looking for after death communications from the jehovah witness community.
an after death communication (or adc) is when a loved one sends a kind of message to this side of life after their death.
it can be a dream or smell (like perfume or roses that would be attached to them in memory) or a feeling of their presence.

Jack,
Hi, nice to meet you!
In addition to the comments above about Witness indoctrination, many, many people here are convinced there is no God of any sort.
You see the problem? No God --> no afterlife---> no experiences.
It is the rare person who believes in no spirit life whatsoever but believes in an after life for humans.
Einstein had a theory, not developed, before his death that all time exists at the same time.
One way it was explained is time being like a river. People are entering and exiting the river up and down it all the time. While you are on the river, you are only aware of yourself and those you come upon. Others who are days behind you or days ahead of you are on the same river at the exact time you are however.
Now this theory, if one believes in God or spirits could help explain some things...like foretelling the future and the past (divination/prophecy) and it could also explain attempts at communication I guess.
The continuum in which time flows, is measured, and exists is relative to what is known at the time a person lives.
Some people are satisfied with the world as it is known and explained in their lifetime. Others question and seek the parameters - it sounds like you are one of the latter perhaps?

That old time religion............JW.Org
by punkofnice ini had a secret conversation with a dyed in the wool jw recently.. they told me that they felt that the organisation now was a different religion to the 'good old days' when knorr was the boss.
the books were more interesting.
the zeal was there.
