  My brother died last night

  i found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.

  it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.

  there were six of us, now only four.

  We had a C.O. whose wife was "annointed".

  With her double pierced ears and tight leather skirts

  yeah

  uh huh

  I kid you not.

  She was an emotional basket case too.

  I guess that is why no one said anything about her?

  The Org seems to fear "emotional crazy" amongst the C.O.s wives and leave it alone.

  there was a time when as a family, we'd host a bbq in our large back garden.

  we'd have a small gazebo, tables and chairs.

  the reggae music would be pumping out but not too loud.

  a minor violation should receive a minor correction; a major violation receives a major punishment.

  take the example of a kid who accidently spills soda on the carpet.

  Great articulate reasoning Lonzo. This is the kind of thread that helps so much when trying to pull ones thoughts together to reason with family and friends that still have ties to the Org.

  I like the way Shelly is only thanked as an after-thought for her " supporting" role even though she's battling her way through crowds of violent looters and rioters AS WELL.

  So many good points in your post but I especially nodded at the one above. I noticed that nice little bit of misogyny as well.

  A Picture of the First Bethel

  here is a picture of 124 columbia heights in brooklyn that russell purchased when he moved his operations to brooklyn.

  it belonged to another preacher, henry ward beecher, before he died.

  russell also bought his other properties that beecher had on hick street, which i guess would be the first assembly hall.

  I'm still on my JWN holidays but had to pop back to share this experience.

  i'm a postman with the royal mail and was assigned to train a new starter yesterday.

  my line manager introduces me to 'dave', within seconds my jw radar was on maximum!

  in his mid to late 30's, politely spoken and with that haircut - i just knew it.. the post he'd applied for was saturdays only, he said he did a lot of volunteer work.

  Gorby says goodbye

  my eyes for ttatt opened in 1995 with the generation change and the wt magazine stated "some witness thought that the generation started in 1914".

  since 1997, with internet at low speed, i followed h2o hourglass, www.xjw.com and later on www.jehovahs-witness.net.. did a bachelor and post bachelor since then.. now, nearly completed with fading, i feel it's time to go on with my life and do some other things, spending more time with my wife abd children instead of thinking about jw topics in my head.

  goal is being a better person and less grumpy at 45.... everything what could be said is already said.

  Don't Want To Be At The RC This Year...

  the whole time i'll just be thinking about what effect all those crazy loyalty videos will have on my family.

  i can venture to guess that they'll be wound up and determined to "stay loyal" because this "is the truth" and "this system can't last much longer".

  i have to go because not doing so would raise too much suspicion but i'm really dreading it.

  Can you volunteer in parking?

  A chance to get out of the building some of the time?

  Here, they give the brothers headsets so they wont "miss" out. Of course, what you happen to listen to on your headset would be up to you......
