Yes Blondie, its such a problem with the men in the Org that the new guidelines are not to handle it judicially unless its "hard" porn.
So they finally had to make a judgement call on the severity of different types of porn!

at this rate, soon they'll let infants get dipped:.
lindsey jackson, 14, of king george county was among the 33 people who were baptized saturday during the first convention of jehovah’s witnesses of the summer at the richmond coliseum.

i don't think this has been picked up anywhere yet.
the revised nwt released in 2013 is already out of date.
the second half of psalm 51:4 now reads "therefore, you are righteous when you speak, you are right in your judgment" in the online version where the printed version reads "so that you might prove righteous when you speak, and be right in your judgment".. fairly unimportant in itself, but i wonder what else has been changed without telling anyone..
I dont know what it says in the online version but the new gray Bible took out two of the cross references listed with Hebrews 10:25. The most important one now gone was Matthew 18:20.
Hebrews says "Do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together..."
Matt 18:20 says "Where two or more are gathered in my name there my spirit will be also."
There were 4 cross references listed at Hebrews in the red Bible. Now there are only 2. That important one at Matthew 18 is gone. Why?
Could it be the Org doesnt want people to think they can gather in small groups?
the organization really has some talented people in it.
seriously talented.
artists, musicians, animators, and any other creative venue you can think of.
I feel the same way as TImeBandit.
When I think about "White Christmas or "Silent Night" or "Deck the Halls" I know its Christmas time and the music is very mood inducing.
Can you imagine if some power were to take away all the dearly loved Christmas songs and make new ones that didnt have all the memories that are attached to them?
People wouldnt stand for it.
I think the Org is making a mistake in getting rid of some of the memory stirring and emotion rousing through song. They really need all the inspiring tactics they can muster, rather than getting rid of some.
once upon a time i started a thread who is your favorite thinker and got many responses.
however revisiting that thread i noted we were to modest to name ourselves or fellow posters.
i therefore think we are either complete idiots, or modesty aside we should now name names, and restrict our answers to posters on the board.. so who on this board is your favorite thinker and why?.
Thank you Rebel
CoCo, thank you for giving more detail on Leolaia. She seems rather legendary!

Orphan crow has done so much research in the history and the blood issue. Her abilities amaze me.
There are many posted here I have a favouritism for. Many awesome posters
post off I arrive on this forum about the time leolaia left. I too wish she had a hankering to revisit the forum from time to time
Couldnt agree more. OrphanCrow is incredible and her researching skills are crazy, mad, good!
i was raised as a jw and 1975 expectations were pretty intense.
as i recall, most people did not leave after the failed expectations but many s l o w e d down.
now, i think most of the 1975 witnesses are gone or barely in.. is the older generation still around in the kingdom halls or are they much gone?.
I was in my teens and baptized that year.
I am not there....
I am here!

Village Idiot
Leolaia. Her synesthesia gave her a fantastic ability to memorize, research and write scholarly articles.
She is missed by those who knew her.
I arrived too late to know her.
I hear so many good things though, I am sorry I missed out.
Where did she go? Is she doing well? Anyone here keep in touch?

I think this thread is like potato chips.....you cant stop with just one!
I am often amazed at how succinctly Outlaw can express a lot with a little. That takes a great depth of thought.
Yes, he is amazingly funny but I am often astounded when he slams the point in like a home run.
I have learned that the hardest things are the ones that appear effortless. Thats him.
To be able to do it with such humor is the icing on the cake.

TIming is amazing but I was going to say Giordano...
I like the way he makes us realize like doesnt have to be a struggle. As a new poster with a JW mentality, he helped me to see a new way of looking at leaving.
Classy guy.
just been thinking about the "persecution" video where the modern day "job" loses everything.
here's an alternative narrative.. instead of turning down the salary job in the next town over, our hero takes the job even though it's a tough commute.
he is still able to contribute in a meaningful way to his "ministry.
Even when I was a full in Witness I used to have opinions on this that were exactly like the ones above.
Like the pioneer sister who drives around on bald tires and then when she has a flat, blames Satan.
