Whole families leaving the Org has increased
by pomo6780 ini have noticed in the uk a few families i used to know while in the borg have exited together.
some include former elders and ministerial servants.
i observed on social media pages that the kids have 'worldly' boyfriends and girlfriends and they look so much happier than they did in the org.

My personal family left over a period of 2 years. This occurred 5 plus years ago. My siblings with their families are all still ragingly "in" but since none of me or mine are actually DFd, they are somewhat fragmented in how they chose to deal with us and associate with us. Some more, some less.
I dont think they (my in family members) realize how very close to the edge as far as being mentally ready to walk some of the younger still in family members are. These young ones confide but vaguely. I listen with complete empathy and support but do no "campaigning" for leaving.
I think it should happen organically on its own if that is the choice.

Thank you Scotty for introducing me to your lovely Nan. She sounds priceless. Your post has renewed my determination to be "that kind of Nan" to my own grandson.
Thank you and your Nan for the inspiration.
Hugs to you.

...and so the shunning begins
by Phoebe ini am now officially 'inactive' so am no longer chased by an elder a for a report.
the congregation i belonged to never had much time for me anyway, i said once i could drop down dead in the k.hall and no one would notice.
so i never expected anyone to be particularly bothered that i wasn't there and they aren't.

Such a sad but familiar story Phoebe. I supported my "best friend" (a JW) through an affair and a disfellowshipping, and subsequent reinstatement and now ten years later? I am inactive and she says I make her "uncomfortable".
I understand it I guess, because she has never liked getting to far away from being told what to do whereas I always felt restless and squeezed in to obedient compliance as a JW.
I miss the closeness she and I had. I am sure you too miss the daily communications you had with your friend. I can honestly say there is a difference in missing her and missing "the relationship" and the space it occupied in my day to day life.
Thanks for starting this thread. Reading everyones thoughts has been very heartwarming and encouraging for me too.
Hugs to you Phoebe. xxxooo

Grieving Parents Denounce JW Faith (Blood)
by darkspilver insad situation for the parents.child death blamed on religious beliefs.
zimbabwe, the sunday mail, sunday, october 29, 2017. a jehovah’s witness lost her baby during childbirth because she and her husband followed church teachings and turned down blood transfusions that could have averted the tragedy.. getrude seneri (28) said she experienced labour complications on september 20, 2017 and doctors said blood transfusions were necessary to save both her and her child.. the couple stuck with their religious beliefs resulting in the child dying and her husband, misheck bande, stepped in to authorise transfusions for her when he was told that his wife’s life was also on the brink.. now, the couple have denounced the church for its teachings on blood transfusions.. opening up to the sunday mail society last week, seneri and bande spoke of how they were initially willing to risk their lives for their religious beliefs – but had changed their minds after the loss of their child.. jehovah’s witnesses are not alone when it comes to rejecting blood transfusions.. prince marezva, an elder of the johane masowe apostolic sect said they were totally against blood transfusions and organ transplants.. zimbabwe national traditional healers association president george kandiero said transfusions were shunned because people feared taking in bad spirits from the donor’s lineage.. another religious group that does not condone blood transfusions is the church of christ, scientist (aka christian science).. read full article: http://www.sundaymail.co.zw/child-death-blamed-on-religious-beliefs/.

(matt 8 / luke 8).
