I never noticed the storm clouds before.
How funny.
well, kinda at least the jw carts aren't making a noise .
outside powell st station, opposite the westfield centre in market street, san francisco.
street view: https://goo.gl/maps/usgcsjsntwz.
That was really cool to watch, thanks for posting it.
The JWs just blend in to the general melee, they dont stand out as special as all.
The mic'd guy is annoying but he is not attracting much wanted attention either, it seems the band is the big hit!
As it should be...
an old friend of mine committed suicide this week.
he was a great guy; pleasant to be around, a hard worker, kind.
everybody at work liked him.. then something changed.
Yes to the comments above.
When people naturally turn away from (shun) certain behaviors in others based on their own value system that is one thing.
It can serve to help the individual exhibiting the behavior to modify or correct their own course in order to remain part of a social group. That is a good thing, both for the individual and for the big picture of the group.
What the JWs do is set in place an artificial code of ethics determined by them and demand that it be followed to be part of their group. One way you can tell how very seriously it is off track from being normal or healthy is not only do they penalize the individual they are shunning, they will shun others who dont shun the individual!
To compound the idiocy of this they also keep changing the rules on what is shun worthy.
The JW rules are designed to exploit human behavior to their own ends.
That is hugely different than the natural giving of feedback to one another about personal behaviors in a group setting.
Most importantly, I am sorry about your friends pain and I am very sorry for what you are going through now. The fact that you are mulling it over and concerned shows that you really cared about this man.
jehovah's witnesses post 'anti-gay' 'harness your habits' leaflet in north devon.
devon and cornwall police have said a leaflet posted through doors in north devon isn't a crime – despite it advising gay people to "control their urges".the leaflet, entitled "how to harness your habits", was distributed in north devon by jehovah's witnesses and contains an article asking "what does the bible say about homosexuality?
"in it, the religious group states that "rejecting homosexuality" is completely different to "rejecting people of a different skin colour" and says their views are the same as people who "view smoking as harmful and even repugnant".it also compares gay people to animals, but says "unlike animals, they can choose not to act on their impulses".the journal was contacted by a reader, who wishes to remain anonymous, who felt "belittled" by the leaflet.
LOL good example scratch!
Thank you for helping me understand. I really want to be sensitive and aware and not dense!
So would not currently sexually active be correct? Or celibate?
I am searching for the right way to say someone gay or hetero, someone male or female - doesnt matter - who is basically standing outside the long arm of the law (in this case a judicial committee) because they are not doing anything that can be used as a technicality against them.
the wt has promoted bloodless surgery as a viable (and better) alternative to surgery with blood transfusions.. i have found a medical study that has been used to back up these "evidence based" claims.
the title of the article is lessons learned from the outcome of bloodless emergency.
these mostly indigent patients died of peritonitis becauseof delays in payment for antibiotics.
That is a moral question and not valid to be brought into the equation when analyzing results. Indigent is not a moral position even though some authors would like to subtly use it as one - it is a position defined by economic situation.
Millie, your query, I think, is exactly the one that the authors want you to make
Sometimes I assume I am communicating clearly when it becomes obvious I have not. I should have given background.
I have been aware for a long time that big ticket items can be made readily available for indigent people (of whom women and children are the most fragile and vulnerable) while simple things that could make them not need intensive interventive measures are denied them. For example a kidney transplant may be possible but a diet that contributes to health OR simple blood pressure screenings and drugs for hypertension are not available in some cases for some people.
This is something the World Health Org has tried with limited success to address, as have other groups.
So when I read this, I was wondering if access to simple antibiotics were out of the reach of women in their villages due to perhaps them living in a remote area or due to politics or due to big pharna, or some combination thereof.
Sorry I didnt make that more clear.
today one of the members of the local congregation who is somewhat limited intellectually was showing off a small bit of cut granite stone.
as he did so he made sure to let everyone know that it was given to him by the congregation service overseer who just completed his second or third round of bragging rights slave labor at warwick.
he mentioned that, "brother _______ gave this to me as a piece of reality from warwick.
Sounds like the brother is not alone in being limited intellectually.
Little piece of granite? Big carved image? Whats the difference?
and why he doesn't go to the gym, jog or workout!
also no survivalist mentality is required.deciphering warship has posted a youtube of part of the speech given by the one and only, anthony morris the iii at last years imitate jesus convention.deciphering warship makes this comment.
governing body member anthony morris demonized preparing for this disaster by building such a bunker or (bomb shelter)going so far, as to warn even against stocking up food.
So if this storm is already one that heaven is pre prepared for why cant the anointed be talking to old friends once they are "wooshed"?
Why "no time" for that?
What the heck is he talking about?

It makes you wonder how they could receive surgery and ventilation while so poor (and in the case of some, receive blood also) and yet antibiotics were too over the top?
Is this because of poor priorities? A distribution problem? Maybe they should have gotten the antibiotics before they arrived at the hospital and were unable to?
i just wanted to thank this community for being there during my most difficult period of life.
even if it wasn't a direct interaction, i was reading, and i've taken away a lot over the past year plus.
on september 2 of last year the local congregation announced that my wife and i were no longer jehovah's witnesses because we chose to disassociate.
I loved the slideshow!
Thank you for posting and sharing, You are shining a light on the entrance to a new life for any who are trying to find their way.
The happiness on your faces is undeniable.
