one of the questions that seem to trouble the governing body of the jehovah's witnesses in recent year is this: what will jehovah's witnesses be doing during the destruction of babylon the great?

I do know that is certain states (US) buildings that are safe for weather conditions that are severe, have a sign designating that on the building. Usually schools and the like.

There was a letter read a while back (this goes back over 5 years) stating that Kingdom Halls were not designated buildings to be used as shelters unless specified.

I figured that was part of their ongoing attempt to have zero liability (or accountability for that matter) toward their flock who gives them all their money.

many years back, my younger brother and i were the most mischievous kids in the kingdom hall.

we would mischievously take away things like the bible , study magazines, etc from meeting attendees.

soon, they will suspect us if anything went missing.. our parents were annoyed with our conduct and behaviour.. they requested an elder to talk to us.

so 9 months before i started pioneering, i had a hot and heavy moment with this player witness who was just trying to string me along and talked to a lot of different girls.

we made out and he grabbed my goodies a few times you know the regular stuff all teens do at least once.

anyways i never saw him again because when i refused to send him nudes he dropped me.

As an older female talking to a younger one let me tell you that every feeling of outrage and indignity that you are feeling are 100% valid.

Do not let them tell you that just accepting their "discipline" is normal or tied to repentance. This is over control on their part. Your reaction to that is healthy.

Go read the Song of Solomon. Those two weren't married and I have always gotten a kick out of watching the puritan leadership of the Org dance around that book of the Bible!

Interesting that the Elder's manual says that if it is discovered that an Elder or Ministerial Servant committed a gross wrong several years ago that they may be able to continue serving.
Shame that your nemesis didn't wait another year so you could plead several years ago! Not that it would matter, you are just a lowly female pioneer!

Yes it is the 3 year rule.

An elder guilty of sexual misconduct of over a couple years (a couple being 2) does not have to be removed if it is not well known.

His time serving during the three years is proof of Gods blessing.

So says the elders manual and it references an earlier Kingdom Ministry.

so here's the point regarding blood transfusions.

notice jesus asks the pharisees if it was lawful on the sabbath to save a life.

so, can you break god's law to save your life if it came to that?

Taking blood is not a direct disfellowshipping offense.
Following are the two policies:
1. If someone takes blood willingly and is not repentant, he is termed as disassociated.
2. If someone takes blood under extreme pressure, he is given counsel.

If anyone has the most recent elders manual, this is exactly how they play it now. Heavy emphasis "lovingly counsel and forgive" (their words not mine) those who did it under duress and weakness and are now SORRY (repentant).

They are in the process of backing away from their blood policy. They are not going to apologize or release new directives. Rather, they are just going to be very quiet and "forgive" people until the generation that knew it die off. It is being phased out and the children and grandchildren of the 30 something year old JWs will look at it as "the old ways', the same as older JWs now view organ transplants and vaccines.

On and off again JW girlfriend

hello everyone, i have an on and off again ex who is a jw.

each time her family gets involved and she's gone again.

i'm debating biting the bullet and doing the work to become baptized, so we can follow through with our engagement.

I worry for you that the rules and regs once you are baptized would eat you alive.

I had one other thought. Your child you are raising with ex, give some thought to how this would impact her. She would have two extremely different lifestyles to have to move between.
