My JW Elder Brother Passed Away
by minimus inhe was basically a good man, just a believer in the religion.
when we were both elders we were best of friends and then things deteriorated when i was not an elder for a while.
then after becoming an elder again, i slowly drifted away from the religion and he drifted further away from me.

by gone for good inhow do jws (rank and file) know when to commence shunning the victim of an internal judicial proceeding ?
what direction does the elders manual give to start the congregations participation in shunning?
when did you most recently see this process initiated in a hall you attend?.

Long ago they used to announce what you were disfellowshipped for.
If it was smoking - they said so.
Then when that became legally hazardous they changed it to
"So and so is disfellowshipped for conduct unbecoming a Christian"
when that got challenged they changed it to where it is today.
I think that because you "joined" when you got baptized, they are on terra firma legally to announce you are no longer part of the "group".
At least that is the way it was explained to me.

No. That song is there in the new songbook. It song No 52, Christian DedicationDoes it still sound the same or did they bugger it all up like they did others?
I would say I havent heard it in ages but then again I havent gone to meetings in ages so that would make its own kind of sense wouldnt it?

They both sprang up with clone kiddie cartoons within a year of each other,
There was an interesting thread here about the fact that maybe the Jws and the LDS were using the same consulting service to rev up sluggish followers.

I liked the one they used to play at Memorial.
Cant remember the name of it.
It had the line
"Because Jehovah created the universe so grand, to him belong the earth and sky, the works of his own hand,"
It talked about the Israelites crossing through the sea and so on ,
I thought it was pretty and kind of gave a timeline.
Of course, they got rid of it.
The songs now are so inane and people just kind of mumble and stumble along.

Need some encouragemant
by LogansRun inits been awhile since i've commented but i come by and read your posts about once a week.
so why do i need a pep talk ?
after almost 2 years into my fade these bastards won't give it a rest constant hang ups on my answering machine and today for the first time in about 6 months they come to my apartment complex but thankfully couldn't get in they did keep buzzing me so they were here looking for me.

I do know that is certain states (US) buildings that are safe for weather conditions that are severe, have a sign designating that on the building. Usually schools and the like.
There was a letter read a while back (this goes back over 5 years) stating that Kingdom Halls were not designated buildings to be used as shelters unless specified.
I figured that was part of their ongoing attempt to have zero liability (or accountability for that matter) toward their flock who gives them all their money.
