when you look back the last 20 years , what a transformation!
back then witnesses were putting out poetry and most were singing the praises of the organization.
slowly and gradually, negative thoughts were allowed to be expressed about doctrines, elders and congregation life.
After an entire lifetime as a JW, leaving felt like the end of my world. I knew too much to stay and I knew nothing about what was "out there".
It was similar to being on a sinking boat and jumping into the cold dark sea. This site threw me a raft and I climbed in and hung on.
Thanks to being here, I was able to replace fear with facts. Life is great now.
I owe everyone here a tremendous debt of gratitude.
terrible news out of colorado this morning of a mass shooting in a supermarket leaving 10 dead.. missing from the homepage of cnn is any description of the shooter.
that's because it's a muslim refugee from syria who was apparently anti-trump and not a "maga white guy" which would otherwise be included in every headline.. more kids in cages than ever before (but strangely, now no one in the media seems to care) and now this.. biden doesn't have the magic wand he promised after all, right?.
When people of any other race are shot its a hate crime.
When white middle-class people are shot - its about gun laws.
Shes a B list actress who claims to want "privacy".
(Ater she got the 50 million dollar wedding of course - not before)
She wants her privacy so much that she hired Sunshine Sacs world reknown PR company.
In addition, she is now going on Oprah to again seek that privacy.
Dont think about it too hard and it will all sound plausible.

It is interesting how they "borrow" from one another.
When JWs introduced Caleb and Sophia (the children that were characters they claimed they invented) we had a thread here about an interesting development.
The development was that the Mormons had 2 young characters FIRST that the JW ones were clones of.
The thread had some posters who did a bit of digging and i I remember correctly there was some evidence presented that looked like JWs had hired the same consulting firm the Mormons had hired.
Obviously, JWs were concerned about the high rate at which they were/are losing young people. The Mormons have their own problems with that but still do better than the witnesses.
if you don’t support certain ideas or beliefs, you may find yourself on the losing end in business, money matters, and community.
curt schilling, a former red sox player who is conservative today reported how his insurance company suddenly dropped him even though he was an excellent consumer with them because of his “ views”.
he was marked by those in charge and evidently was told by the rep he knew that they didn’t like his political views.
Humans have an absolute mental block about learning from their past it seems.

it looks like it can happen again and i suspect if it does happen, the senate will not convict either because they can’t convict him since it’s after his presidency or simply because they don’t have sufficient votes..
