Oh, I forgot to ask: how many times does one have to write or say anything before it is acceptable as truth? Let your "Yes mean Yes" implies that once should be sufficient, especially for God. However, the JW did base their entire Michael = Jesus theory on only the 1Thess.4:16 but that is an interpretation by JW's. And as well, there are other scriptures that refer to being caught up as in Acts 8:39 or 2Cor 12:2-4 and also when referring to Enoch and Elijah. So then I guess it is all true! Should I put in a good word for you? If not, could you put in a good word for me?I'll send you another cheque?

Who will go to heaven?
by misty ini know that jw's say only 144,000. however, i just read a book called "as time runs out" by robert jeffress and he claims that all christians who have received jesus will be picked up at the rapture.
but, he says, we will not all have the same rank in heaven.
he claims that different responsibilities will be assigned.

Why do you say the order is wrong? Did the grass not come before the cow?
And oh yeah, your cheque is in the mail.

My experience at the Memorial...
by Richie inthe memorial was held last night at a community center about 15 km away from the kingdom hall.
as a df'd person, i always feel more uncomfortable if the memorial is held at a location other than the regular kh, as i would otherwise know my way around where to sit in obscurity, as well as arriving just as the meeting is about to start.. well, i decided to come a little bit earlier (although not too early) - then walked inside the community center and suddenly i was standing in front of the wide entrance where practically everyone was gathered in order to get a perfect view of who were entering the hall.
needless to say, i felt like an alien, someone who did not exist at all, yet when i gazed into the eyes of many of the ones i know, i noticed that they were secretly looking at me and then quickly turned their heads away from me.

Hey Richie: Speaking of shunning. My little one phoned one of his JW friends last nite (although I had repeatedly told him not to do that as it would put them on the spot. - yeah, well my kids don't always listen!) Anyway, the mom answered (my best friend! ex..) and acted as if nothing has happened and handed the phone over to her son. He proceeded to converse as if all was ok. I gather they did not make plans to play or do lunch or anything but it is a start. What do you think? Should I try it too?

Rhett:
Those literal days don't stand up to logic. That would mean that when it says "in the day of Noah" it would mean that he was around only one physical day?
When it says "in the last DAY" it would mean that we are now living in only one literal day?And as to the Rapture: if there is nothing to this, please explain me 1Thess 4:17 when it refers to "being caught up in the skies".
As you know, the rapture idea for all believers is very new to me now, but I am trying to read and believe what i see and not what people say we should see. Enough of that! ANd I no longer believe that it is only for an elite, enough of that too!BTW: Thank you for refering to me as "a true believer". I wish Jesus would think that of me too! And the Father Almighty too! or are they the same?oops- it just slipped out...

Abaddon:
I am sorry to hear that you already made your choice not to believe in God or his Word. However, just before you put the padlock on: Sometimes if we sincerely want to know Him and ask Him proof, He does show us! That is what got me in trouble with the JW. Asked Him to show me the wrong and He hit me with it like a ton of bricks! And believe me, the last thing I wanted was to be proven wrong. I thought I was smarter than that! Me? conned? Yep! Yep! Yep! Big time!! -

oh and Rhett, those flaming words in the sky? What if they do come? And what if it is too late? Your buddies up and left in the Rapture, and you are stuck down here going through the tribulation then the judgment for the deeds you did, rather than the faith you had? Would you not wish you at least gave it an ear?
Re. the Book, I don't think I have to give further proof of inspiration, so many books have been written on this subject by much more clever people than little ole me. Should I forward some titles? -

LyinEyes:
There has got to be a heaven, or else why would Jesus say that he was going up there to where His Father was to prepare a place for his followers? Psalms says that the heavens is where God is. And Jesus said that if you believe in Him you will have eternal life. That is good enough for me (I know, not for Rhett!) That is ok too, since he is being good in this life, that will be enough for him. -

I'm with Willy! but hey, rhett: you sound pretty cool there too? Are you sure you don't believe, cause you sound like you did there for a minute. (And by the way, where did you ever get the idea that He said He created in 6 literal days?) That does not sound like your reasoning?

Sorry some of us have to work some hours to get the family fed so I could not get back to you sooner.
Ok, how long do you think that piece of paper will be lying around on your living room table. Or how long after your are long dead and burried? Do you think it will still be around in 2000 years? And who is going to bother transcribing it faithfully unless there is some tangible evidence that it needs to be transcribed and passed on? ANd to whose benefit would anyone pass it on?
I understand your skepticism but is there a point at which you start accepting anything as actually God-sent? What sort of proof would you need, short of being hand-delivered by God Himself.
I remember a girl that I used to study with (I will ask her forgiveness for this soon), she used to take this to an extreme, not believing anything that was spoken or written since everything can be questioned, even if we are actually here on this site or just dreaming!
Where do you draw the line?
