I agree with you, tweetiebird, I too was duped and I too really believed that I was in the true religion. When I finally woke up after nearly 15 years, I was so messed up - I thought I was having a breakdown. But I knew that everything was not lies. They after all taught us the Bible (albeit their version of it!) But think of the advantage that we have, we at least know what is in there. If someone claims some weird stuff, we will know that it is totally off the wall. I think that God knows what we have been through, and maybe he is testing us like Abraham? maybe he wants to see how far we will go and still trust in Him? I think it is up to Him to show us the real way - He wrote it, let Him explain it.

Who will go to heaven?
by misty ini know that jw's say only 144,000. however, i just read a book called "as time runs out" by robert jeffress and he claims that all christians who have received jesus will be picked up at the rapture.
but, he says, we will not all have the same rank in heaven.
he claims that different responsibilities will be assigned.

THE END IS COMING!
by MavMan init is a fact that the end is coming.. whether it's the end of your natural life or the end of this world, one thing is for certain, the end is near.

What do you mean? I thought I would be the one telling him what to do! Or at the very least, we can together tell everyone else what to do.

Hey, Mr. bean, sounds to me like you read the book called "Satan's Government" by Michael Joachim or something like that. And if you didn't - then you should since he thinks just like you. Except maybe for the Palestine part. Check it out. It is fun to read and adds that the mark of the wild beast could be a chip implanted in your hand or forhead that could make shopping easier than pointing your retina at a camera scanner. However, he does not think Israel is the beast or the antichrist, and frankly, neither do I. They were the chosen nation and will still be used by God.
That is what I think so far, but I could be dissuaded with a plausible argument with lots of proof. -

THIS IS INTERESTING!!!
by voltaire inwhen i went to mass last sunday, as i walked in there was a stack of leaflets with a message from the cardinal about pedophiles in the church!
i thought it was great.
can you imagine how you would feel if you went in to a kh and there was a copy ray franz's book for everyone?

I think that is because they have not been publicly denounced yet, whereas the Catholic church had been in the spotlight for decades about the pedophiles and the orphanages, etc. The JW's turn will come but not until some ex's like us go public - and they better be those that have no family in there still. Otherwise, they may never get these loved ones back - and it may even backfire - and make them even stronger (on account of them being persecuted for their faith and for the TRUTH).

Well, you can all laugh, but the events in the middle east sure point to a head-off in that direction. Does it not say that the antichrist will sign a 7year pact with Israel to protect them and that even before then the "Church" will have to be removed (not the JW's because they think that those verses apply to their annointed only- their Israel of God) ? Looks to me like fleshly Israel is just about ripe for a saving help rom some antichrist, don't you?

Oh, I forgot to ask: how many times does one have to write or say anything before it is acceptable as truth? Let your "Yes mean Yes" implies that once should be sufficient, especially for God. However, the JW did base their entire Michael = Jesus theory on only the 1Thess.4:16 but that is an interpretation by JW's. And as well, there are other scriptures that refer to being caught up as in Acts 8:39 or 2Cor 12:2-4 and also when referring to Enoch and Elijah. So then I guess it is all true! Should I put in a good word for you? If not, could you put in a good word for me?I'll send you another cheque?

Why do you say the order is wrong? Did the grass not come before the cow?
And oh yeah, your cheque is in the mail.

My experience at the Memorial...
by Richie inthe memorial was held last night at a community center about 15 km away from the kingdom hall.
as a df'd person, i always feel more uncomfortable if the memorial is held at a location other than the regular kh, as i would otherwise know my way around where to sit in obscurity, as well as arriving just as the meeting is about to start.. well, i decided to come a little bit earlier (although not too early) - then walked inside the community center and suddenly i was standing in front of the wide entrance where practically everyone was gathered in order to get a perfect view of who were entering the hall.
needless to say, i felt like an alien, someone who did not exist at all, yet when i gazed into the eyes of many of the ones i know, i noticed that they were secretly looking at me and then quickly turned their heads away from me.

Hey Richie: Speaking of shunning. My little one phoned one of his JW friends last nite (although I had repeatedly told him not to do that as it would put them on the spot. - yeah, well my kids don't always listen!) Anyway, the mom answered (my best friend! ex..) and acted as if nothing has happened and handed the phone over to her son. He proceeded to converse as if all was ok. I gather they did not make plans to play or do lunch or anything but it is a start. What do you think? Should I try it too?

Rhett:
Those literal days don't stand up to logic. That would mean that when it says "in the day of Noah" it would mean that he was around only one physical day?
When it says "in the last DAY" it would mean that we are now living in only one literal day?And as to the Rapture: if there is nothing to this, please explain me 1Thess 4:17 when it refers to "being caught up in the skies".
As you know, the rapture idea for all believers is very new to me now, but I am trying to read and believe what i see and not what people say we should see. Enough of that! ANd I no longer believe that it is only for an elite, enough of that too!BTW: Thank you for refering to me as "a true believer". I wish Jesus would think that of me too! And the Father Almighty too! or are they the same?oops- it just slipped out...

Abaddon:
I am sorry to hear that you already made your choice not to believe in God or his Word. However, just before you put the padlock on: Sometimes if we sincerely want to know Him and ask Him proof, He does show us! That is what got me in trouble with the JW. Asked Him to show me the wrong and He hit me with it like a ton of bricks! And believe me, the last thing I wanted was to be proven wrong. I thought I was smarter than that! Me? conned? Yep! Yep! Yep! Big time!!
