  New Rooming Arrangement for some district conventions in the UK - what are they up to?

  so i missed this letter below being read out last week - i got a look at it from the notice board this week.. from what i heard, this announcement was not received entirely positively as such, but there were apparently one or two for who this is a bit annoying.. staying at hotels for the district convention is nothing new here - many are used to staying at the same hotel/b&b/campsite every year, and get quite friendly with the owners.

  but this year, it looks like not only do we have a new location for our district assembly (glasgow - the s.e.c.c.?

  ) but we are being told what hotel to stay at, supposedly to make things cheaper.. what i can't understand is, if this is really for the benefit of people, why didn't they do this years ago?

  By negotiating they mean getting kickbacks or free rooms for higher ups.

  so, i have it on very good authority that a co has recently been disfellowshipped in the uk.

  he has just finished serving the north west london area.

  i don't know any details but perhaps there is someone who does know what happened.

  My cong had a D/O who we all thought was gay Roddy something. I was in south London about 8 years ago. Maybe the c/o was gay. Maybe he just got sick of it like many of us.

  one the how many exbethelites thread it was mentioned that some think one either leaves down the path towards apostasy or as a 100% true believer.

  i'm curious what experiences did you face at bethel that woke you up (or started to at least)?.

  My three years in the british army was a doddle compared to Bethel service less rules, less Homo's & the Snt majors were pussycats by comparison to the GB .

  What advise would you give to young people today.

  about life was a lie.

  we were duped by the wt and by religion as.

  1) Get An Education

  2) Rely on & follow your instincts they are almost without exception right.

  3) Trust noone that claims they are the sole distributers of truth(THEY ARE NOT)

  4) Treat everyone you meet the same unless they F**K with you.

  5) Travel the world as much as you can & work. You will find everyone is the same. Same hopes & fears. You will make same lifelong freinds along the way from different cultures & your lives will be enriched for it.

  6) Educate yourself buy reading differing opinions you will normally get to the truth on a subject by doing so.

  What rumors have you heard about yourself since leaving?

  good morning all,.

  i have had the opportunity over the last couple of years to speak with a couple of jw's who had either attended the same congregation i did or were married to someone who to the same one.

  for the record, i disassociated myself in 1992 due to being followed around by an elder or two who had heard that i had ray franz's "crisis of conscience" in my possession.

  I went to work in Turkey for a few months & wife dumped me then. I forced the issue though when she said if you come back you need to be more active in the service blah blah. Then finally 6 years later I had to admit to adultery so she would divorce me. So I know I would have been getting dissed for at least 5 of those years. I am happier than ever though now with a lovely woman who can think for herself.

  the ct school massacre of sweet, innocent, beautiful, 1st grade babies is crushing to the heart and soul of every parent and grandparent.. i will not be watching any more tv news today, can't handle it.. .
