Review and Comments on the New Elders Book
by MrDarkKnight ini recently completed an exhaustive review of an unofficial copy of the new elders manual.
my father, who is currently serving as an elder told me a friend of his in the service department told him it was on the internet so i eagerly looked for it and found it.
yes, i know it was a violation of copyright, but while at bethel i made copies of many technical manuals which is also a copy of copyright so the wts hypocrisy does not concern me.. i was appointed as an elder the year the pay attention book (manual replaced by this one) was released so i have very good working knowledge of the old book and could compare the two books.

You know it's funny but I was just reading this book when I read this thread. It just blows my freakin mind every time I read this book. I brought it up to my jw dad and he defended it. He said he didn't have a problem with it. I have a saying "You can't argue with ignorance". This has got to be the hardest fight I've ever fought to make them see the Hypocrisy!

by MrFreeze inwell, i would be... if i were still going to meetings.
i live in pittsburgh, pa. for as long as i can remember we've always had our conventions in cleveland.
i think the year i was born was when we started going there.

Hey younz, I hail a bit north in the "city by the cesspool","the mistake by the lake" any guesses? o.k. Erie,PA. I haven't formally introduced myself yet. I will soon. Anyway I to have been to many conventions in mentioned areas. Even seen/heard the late GB Freddy Franz give a talk in Pittsburgh during the 70's. You would of thought God himself was speaking the way witnesses regarded him. Don't put your trust in goverments of man but it's o.k. to put your faith in governing bodies of men. Please!

so anyway, here's my question:.
how could jerusalem's fall be 587 but still be in line with the scriptures about 70 years of desolation that the wto uses to push 607 so strongly?

Quendi I don't wish to play biblical chess with you. The entire point of this thread was to give help to RayPublisher,biblically,the simplist answer on 607 chronology. So from the bible I used Acts 1:6-7. Which is also repeated in 1 Thess. 5:1. The main two phrases throught to the new believers were 1) stay awake (spiritually) no matter how much time passes 2) Nobody but the father knows the times,dates, & seasons of the Lord's day. So, basically to have faith that it will happen. Again Romans 8:24-25. Now are you debating the passing of time or 607 chronology? Because you took something like faith without the speculation of times,seasons,dates,& numbers and twisted it into a theocratic pretzel. But like the ex jw you are, you might have left the org. but the org. hasn't left you! May peace be with you. I'll pray you understand were this is coming from.

if we are to follow chronolgy then we should be called chronologist not christians.as a christian following the bible put my faith in the word.it's not for me to know times and dates but to be ready when they come and have faith in what i don't know and can't see.romans 8:24-25.
