to all my friends,.

i have good news and bad news.

bad news first, the judge is on vacation and will not give her ruling now until the middle of sept.. good news!

It was the watchtower lawyers who decided to come after me in court. It really does seem to be unfair, but thats the way this legal system works. They will try any angle they can to hurt anyone that strays from the flock, and especially those that go after them in court. What hurts most now is the fact that these elders were my friends. I grew up in a small town, small congregation, and we were a close family. They must know what they did was wrong, and they know they used theocratic warfare to win, so they are no better than my abuser, my father, who also lied to get what he wanted.

Sometimes I wonder if judges forget that we are human people with feelings, or do we just become a number. Putting off this long is extremely painful. The trial was 1 year ago.

Frank T, hello to you. Your very funny. Keep up the "good faith", and try to stay strong too. I know you are fighting your own little demons.

Bad news first, the judge is on vacation and will not give her ruling now until the middle of Sept.

GOOD NEWS! The fifth estate show that airs again next wednesday at 9pm has just been nominated for a "GEMINI AWARD". Very big for us canadians. So this means that it will be shown once again. The gemini awards air in Oct of this year.

I will keep you updated about the trial.

hello to all my friends, .

the fifth estate will be rerunning their story on the problems within the jw faith on "sept 3 /03 at 9pm.".

i know that some of you missed it last january, so now you will have a chance to see the program, they will be following it with an update on my trial and how the jw's are coming after me for costs.

I don't think they will be talking about the new cases in the states especially since they are a canadian company. You never know though. Its basically just a rerun of the last story, and the results of my lawsuit at the end. I hope it makes some impact, and perhaps the judge will watch it this time.

I know that some of you missed it last january, so now you will have a chance to see the program, they will be following it with an update on my trial and how the jw's are coming after me for costs. It should be good. If the judge makes her final decision of costs this week, which she should, then that will be added in as an update as well.

Frannie, you can pass my name onto anyone you like.

Mouthy, we can not add new evidence to to trial. The judge is working on costs now, unless we call a mistrial (perhaps), nothing more can be added. Its very unfortunate. But want can I do. We tried really hard to make this work. People have been such a great support to me and are always trying different angles. Talk soon, vic

your right. I tend to get carried away with the moment. My emotions are so up and down, and you are all like family to me, I tend to forget that there are wolves amoung these sheep. I try to keep everyone here updated so that this case is not forgotten, and I want people to know what happens every step of the way. Frannie you are very cute and funny. Have I met you before? I will try and keep my chin off the hardwood floors I have, slivers are worse than carpet burns. We are going to try to drive to toronto to hear what the judge says on the 22nd. It is a long ways from my home, but I was hoping to meet up with an exjws from toronto. Pm me anyone from toronto, and we can plan to meet for some "up building" conversation. Not sure yet, but will know when soon. hey all,

Yes,

I had given my lawyer a very good understanding of the jw's. In fact I know he knows the way the work very well. As was mentioned here before in an earlier post, He represented another jw elder in many lawsuits against the society. So this is not new to him. From what I understand from my lawyer is we have to wait until aug 22 or so to find out what the next step will be. I have been told by a source that they intented to appeal the whole time, and I doubt they will drop the appeal even if we do. But then again.....I could be wrong. You just never know what they will do or say.

Iam very interested in knowing about this family discussion that was mentioned. Could you pm me please.

Iam working on another angle this week, if it all pans out I will let the board know the news. Iam awaiting al call from a very important person, so I have to leave for now. I will be back later.

thanks elsewhere, even if I gave them to my lawyer on a silver platter he still would not know what to do with them. I don't understand how something so simiple can be so hard. I just don't know what else to do. If anyone knows any lawyers in ontario who work pro bono, tell them to call. The exjws sueing in the states have help from big law firms, Iam worried this case will be dismissed if I don't act and do something fast, but what...? I know you are there for me Diana. Thanks..and to all who listen.......I hope I can give you all some good news soon. I don't want to loose this battle for all who follow. That would really suck.....to all the Mike Mosses out there. vic

Our lawyer appealed without letting us know, and now we are not sure what to do. Our lawyer just says we will see what happens aug 28th at the court house when the judge will give her decision on costs. They are still going after me for costs, and now the cross appeal. The watchtower feels that the $5000.00 decision was "excessive". They also think that the judge erred in her finding that " the plantiff felt she had no choice but to follow the process directed by the jw elders"" "the judge erred in finding that there was a duty of care imposed on the defendant wt." ..the judge erred "in finding that the plaintiff had been forbidden to develop relationships with anyone outside the faith and had been trained to obey the elders without question and that disobeying the elders was literally inconceivable to the plaintiff at the time." These are just a few points they make. There are 20 or more points.
