Anyone know the significance of the three days and nights Jesus is dead?

in my studies i’ve come to realize that most dying and rising gods such as inanna, jesus and others all were dead three days and nights.

the moon is dead as far as man not being able to see it in the sky three days and nights but many of these gods are not associated with the moon, osiris maybe being the only exception.

have any of you in your research come up with a plausible idea on why there all dead just threes days and three nights?.

In the NT Jesus makes it sound like he's the sun.

"I am the light of the world."

The sun must have died for 3 hours when Jesus died on the cross. The sun must have died earlier than that when it was off for 3 days on the 9th plague of Egypt.

I thought the 3 day and night death was supposed to match up with the 9th plague of Egypt.

n what sense was the apostle paul “caught away to the third heaven” and “into paradise”?—2 cor.

they've been flip flopping regarding this, stating that it is paul talking about himself to paul talking about the congregation and back again to paul talking about himself.it appears that three years ago david splane gave a talk during the convention explaining their latest ideas and it has taken all this time for it to get into print.

the present "spiritual paradise" among Jehovah's people;
If their is a present Spiritual Paradise among Jehovah`s people on earth then why are so many Brothers and sisters leaving ?

I heard someone say that the real condition is a wandering in the wilderness, not a spiritual paradise.

The best candidates for the levels of heaven are:

1. Where the birds and clouds reside.

2. The solar system and galaxies.

3. The spirit realm

Paul had a crazy dream when writing to the Corinthians. He wasn't sure how he got there in the vision. It was a vague experience and it had no relevance to his ministry. 2 Corinthians 12:1-7 (first half of 7) makes no point and no sense. The second half of verse 7 and on make sense and should stand alone. That first part should have been left out and filed with the Apocrypha.

How do you logistically see this happening in the future?

Johnny publisher gets a download from Jehovah. How does he advertise this news? If he tells those in the congregation he will probably be labeled an apostate with the "voices of strangers" Org claim.

If this starts happening to the Rank and File the GB would have all these individuals DF'd in a heartbeat.

Anybody here still believe in the bible?

i'm a current bible student of jw's looking to chat with someone about biblical doctrine.

i'm not interested in talking with an apostate or a fader, i'm just a person looking for answers and wondered if there are any neutral voices in this forum who have good insights into the bible.

i currently talk with a couple of jw's on a personal level from my congregation and they are knowledgeable to a certain extent, but i dare not ask them certain questions because, as you know, the congregation has a culture of fear that impacts trust and openness, especially concerning biblical doctrine or the societies teachings.

I'm an active JW, Have been all my life. I still believe in a number of core JW beliefs but there are a number of them that I struggle with today. I have a circle of JW friends in my area with the same issue. We can talk openly with each other but not with the congregation. Private Message me if you'd like. If I don't know the answer to one of your questions I can ask one of these friends of mine about it.

during her second marriage, i attended the weekly meeting and sunday meetings (by my own choice) with a family in the very small town we lived, since my mom didn’t attend.

You make a good point about the sabbath day being important still. A number of years ago I went along on an RV of this lady. Her house holder was a guy who happened to be an SDA. He argued that all 9 of the 10 commandments are still observed by Christians, why not the sabbath. I said that was a good point when the sister allowed me to interject. I was actually getting on his side to support his belief. I actually turned the topic upside down on the technicalities of the sabbath day.

The sabbath was God's rest day and the USA promotes a 2 day rest period for it's populous. I told him if we don't get a mental rest day between the weeks our brains turn to mush. He never thought God needed to rest when Genesis mentioned him resting on the seventh creative day. The point I was driving to him was that the sabbath was still in practice because it was a rest day for mind and body. Jesus said you could break it as long as you had extenuating circumstances. An employer that makes you work seven days in a crunch was one of them.

The other 9 commandments were straight forward but Jesus said the sabbath one could be more flexible.
